This is an absolute unacceptable situation. Having theses kids hanging on.
Specifically, not guaranteeing a decision by March 15.
It is terrible. The kids did what was required of them and made their deadlines. The school needs to adhere to same. Son was waitlisted (basically pointless) but is so turned off he didn’t even want to accept list. He will be attending another school. What’s funny is when I was his age Udel was just known as a “party school”. For some reason it’s extremely popular in NJ and everyone wants in but not so much for any other reason than because everyone goes there.
np2112, I couldn’t agree more. I called yesterday, and not only did I ask why they are basically jerking kids around, but I let them know that they are being bashed on social media and sites like this for their inability to run their admissions efficiently. My son applied in November. Rolling admissions…a joke. Sent midterm grades. Got email re March 15 deadline, and now email it will be April. He’s reached out to admissions counselor more than 4 times with NO response. Unacceptable. All of it.
@Yankeegal28 I hope your son put deposit down at another school. He will be relieved and feel better once he does that. Most schools we dealt with were so pleasant like Quinnioiac, U of Rhode Island, Seton Hall and others. They got decisions back when expected, gave lots of merit too. udel was very disappointing. Good luck!
