With the exception of a few english teachers, all of my teachers like me (that I know of) but I never went out of my way to earn their favor in the typical "suck-up" ways. I just do my work and participate in class... nothing special. In my experience, as long as you don't antagonize them and show disrespect you're never going to have a problem.

I guess I'm a mix of both, but I would say I'm the student teachers love to hate. Every teacher wants a bright student, but they don't want one that gives them a hard time.

I know when to be the teacher's pet. I'm usually the teacher's pet in classes that I know the teacher shows favoritism. Some of my friends get real jealous when I act like a teacher's pet, because they know I'm only pretending and they know I have no real interest in what the teacher is saying. But hey, I got to do what I have to do to survive out here. I think it's stupid to have a bad grade just because the teacher didn't like you, and all you had to do to get the teacher to like you is act like you're interested in what he has to say.

In the other classes, I'm the one usually cracking jokes. I know my chem teacher doesn't like when I correct her mistakes, but I do it on purpose just to annoy her. We have that kind of relationship where we can joke around with each other though. For example, she encourages competition in our class and if my grade starts to slip or if I answer a question wrong in class, she'll never let me hear the end of it. But on the same note, she knows that she can't slip up either. I think sometimes I take my jokes too far though, and they start to become disrupting. I usually tight-rope walk the line, but I never cross it.

I can also be the quiet student, but I rarely am anymore. It's too boring.

I try not to start off class acting like Im perfect and answering al the questions b/z then the teachers expect too mcuh from me and get really disappointed if I talk out
