Long Story

I visited UVa today and spoke briefly with an admissions officer regarding my course load for senior year. He seemed unconcerned about all of my extra classes, as long as I was taking an upper level (AP/IB) science, english, social studies, and math class. I met all of these requirements, except for math, in my current schedule. I now need help choosing the best math class for me this year

Math Transcript history (First & second semester)
7th: Alg I - A+B
8th: Geometry - A+B
9th: H Alg II/Trig - C+B
10th: H Pre Calculus - C+C
11th: Average stat - A+A

I was taking the most rigorous math courses possible at my school until I was stuck between a rock and a hard place with a decision between AP Stat, and AP Calc after a steady decline and struggle with my math grades. I took the easy way out, and easily learned nothing my Junior year and got A+A in an average level class.

I've been told AP calc looks better than AP stat during the admissions process, but would a hard fought double weighted C in Calc look better than a more manageable and possible A-B minus? I'm leaning towards AP Stat, because I do have that very basic knowledge from my average class..

I was also considering studying hard and taking the Math I SAT II in hopes of getting a decent score and showing that I'm capable of succeeding in math with hard work.
