Class enrollment???

Okay I got a dumb question. Do we enroll for classes on our own or wait until orientation to be counseled? I figured out the schedule that would work best for me and am wondering if I am allowed to just enroll online even tho I’m an incoming freshman. I can’t attend orientation til the later dates and I don’t want to get screwed out of the classes I need/the more convenient times.

The only class I would need to “pass” into that I’m taking is English and I know that I go into English Comp 3, so I want to enroll now in Comp 3 and the other ones with the schedule I cooked up.

Is that what were supposed to do? I’m lost and my parents haven’t been to college in like 40 years…and the answers from my college friends that I’ve gotten are like “just wait ‘til orientation.”

Yeah, so some insight on this would be appreciated. Or is there a dis. thread that already addresses this??

no you have to wait until your orientation session - you won't be allowed to enroll until the last day of the session you go to.

bria*,

since you're going to a later orientation date, you might not get the classes that you set up. don't worry, many don't. but there will be classes available, mostly GE classes though. my advice is to be flexible during your first quarter since registration is handled through orientation. you'll be able to get more desirable schedules in the future. as for english comp 3, it MIGHT be full if you go really late, but they always offer it again in the winter quarter because so many people need to take it.

and yes, you have to wait till orientation to enroll in your classes.
