hahaha o well my stats could have been like yours, doing bad during middle school and could have been the same with high school but i started working real hard 2nd semseter of 9th grade so ya im lucky, proud of my stats cuz i tink there not bad :) well i thought you were a 3.0 or above type student and i dont want to put salt on your wounds but if ur at 2.7ish with top 50% rank and oos standing then id say u got more like a 50/50 shot, more of a match. gud luk man seroiusly gud ting u sent in app. early.

Junior year one honors class 3.14 GPA (W)

Senior year four AP classes 3.7 GPA.

I included a copy of my senior quarter grades to show them that. Do you think it could help pull me in despite the low GPA/ACT?

o ya definitely, updated stats that improve class rank and gpa or test scores definitely helps in regards to admission and scholarship money cuz tats what it said on my official acceptance letter so ya its gona help significantly.

Ok lets say your admissions officer and you get this kid that had grades as follows:

Fresh: 2.3 GPA, no honors
Soph: 3.0 GPA, no honors
Junior: 3.1 GPA, 1 honors
Senior: 3.7 GPA, 5 honors(4 AP)

How are you going to look at this?
1.) This kid really pulled hard to get in here, and deserves a spot.
2.) Despite the good senior year, his cumulative is still low, he doesn't get in.

hm, well if i were an admissions officer at IUB, id see the upward trend in grades as well as course load and say hm ok he worked hard and hes improving and if i saw the 12th grade stuff id say o gud high gpa now and more ap's. so ultimately id accept the kid cuz you kno he(you)worked hard and i see evidence of improvement. but since IUB is rollling and stat's driven school, i cant really make a good call on your chances since although you're grades have been improving, your CURRENt application, test score and transcript are showing that you got a 2.7 gpa blah blah so its really a toss up. you just gotta wait and see what happens. because they make decision based on the stats they got from you, but if you show them your 12th grade quarter grades then they might give you some leeway and accept u.

kinglin - they accept 82% of all applicants. As long you don't give them a reason to reject you, you will likely get in.

You don't have that bad of a GPA. It's slightly below their average (3.3). They don't look at Freshman grades. As long as you are getting mostly B's, and limited C's, you should be OK.

GT3000, do most freshman/kids at Briscoe join Fraternities or Sororities? You said Briscoe was close to the Fraternities and such so I was wondering if most kids at Briscoe do the Rush thing and join that stuff. Also i changed my preferences to #1 Briscoe ( academic floor) and #2 Teter ( academic floor) thanks

lots of people join frats and sororities in every dorm. briscoe is a solid dorm though, and so is teter. you wont be disappointed!

any of u guys here know what you have to maintain during senior year to not negatively affect your acceptance for admission? damn i might get a C in econ. ap!! :(

you can get a few C's, just don't get any lower than that

O SWEEET HEL YA BABY man i was worrying bout my econ ap grade phew, u sure wolves we can get a C or 2 in ap classes during senior year???!!

Is anyone else seeing a different screen at OneStart? I'm seeing a screen that has "Register for Classes" in bold font, and the tab in the center is "Registration Services", yet no notification of admittal.

The Admissions tab is now on the far left side. When I click on "Undergraduate Admissions Status Check", all that it says is "Please call the Office of Admissions for the status of your application." For about 5 weeks, it said I needed my transcript sent. Yet when I click on "My To Do List", it says I need to send my transcript!

I'm confused! Nothing in the mail yet...

forget the register for classses in bold font, we're not officially IUB students yET!!! dont wory about tat one, i got in already and recieved my official stuff and for my one start account it still says contact admissions office so tat doesnt matter either. the only thing you can do is call the IUB admissions office and ask if they recieved ALL of your required stuff and ask wutever else necessary. I realizedthey dont eve nupdate that onestart thing for us applicants. Just call onli way, tats what i did to check if they got everything. PLUS there really busy now cuz theres like a rush of applicants now so u just gota wait. if u applied early in september then u shud have ur acceptance by now.

For the Kelley business school, is it possible to get in without being in top 10% of class?

i dont tink so, i put a business major on my application for IUB and i had the sat I score to qualify but ididnt have the top 10 % rank i was at top 15%. igot my acceptance like 10/5/05 something and i didnt get anything from em so i tink its cut and dry u gota be top 10 % and such.

o crapola nvm, i just saw the kelly direct admit program and you can witout to 10 % il give u the link so u can make sure ur selff heh gud for me too maybe i can get in also! :) heres the link:http://www.kelley.iu.edu/ugrad/admission/requirements.cfm

I'm shooting for Kelley Direct Admit. I got a 3.6 and a 29 on the ACT, so I qualify. I'm hoping to also get into Honors and pick up a Faculty Award scholarship, but it's unlikely.
