I'm applying to:
Michigan State University-safety
University of Michigan-safety/good match

?University of Chicago-reach
?Rice University (combined BA/MD program)-reach

My friend who goes to Uchicago said it would be easy to get into...he had a 28 on his ACT and a 1390 on SAT. A lot of my friends who go to like Harvard, WashU, etc tell me that highly selective collges look at essays and activites more than grades because they already expect everybody to have good grades. Anyways, I know my tests scores aren't that impressive, but people tell me I have a chance if I can write a really good essay, good recommendations or something.

So what do you guys think? Is there any school on my list I shouldn't apply? Any other good schools I should consider?
