Class of '09 Early Bonding

Katie, that sounds like an awesome idea. Now if only I knew whether or not I was in! I'm getting even more anxious! eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep!!!

Good luck LiquidPaper. I believe in you. I have a theory that Vassar knows about this website and all the kids on it are gonna get in. If I am rite, and of course I am, I will see u in August. :)

but how would they know who we are?

haha. :)

Hey good luck everyone.
I was admitted EDI. Anyone is welcome to IM me... SecretWorldLive

Hey y'all! I was on the internet, trying to find out more about Vassar, and I stumbled upon this website. I've been accepted EDI, so I'm really excited to hear from other people who are going to be there, too.

ahh thats such a great idea! im gonna have to make myself one of those. no wonder you got into vassar, you're a genius.
i wish i could write more but i have an AB calc test tomorrow that i have to not fail. cant they just give me my diploma already?

Seriously, I'm understanding exactly how you feel with the senioritis. And to think, I never thought I'd get it...

I recently reviewed Vassar's AP policy. Apparently, you can only receive up to four AP credits, regardless of how many AP classes you take and what your grades are for those exams. I've take three exams in the past (US, English Lang, Euro). Now I'm taking Latin Lit, English Lit, Bio and Calc BC. So what's my motivation to try and get credit at this point? Even if i get 5s on all the exams I take this year, it's impossible to get credit for all of them.

I took the Latin Lit AP last year, now theres a fun way to spend 3 hours of your life. what are you studying besides catullus? i studied catullus & ovid last year.

Oh thats a very icky AP policy. Im sorry bout that, but hey it has to be kinda nice to know u dont have to take the tests. I dont get created for any of my IB standard level exams, but i still have to take them to get my IB diploma grumble grumble.

we're doing the catullus and horace exam... i really like horace.

ovid is great too, i'm reading some of his amores for an independent study this year

and i do have to take the AP exams, even though the grades don't matter

i'm not the biggest football fan in the world, but i live around Philly so i thought id let you all know that the eagles knock my socks off. 21-7 at half time. go birds!

its supposed to snow in NY today, bet they're having snowball fights and all kinds of fun stuff

:-) it's snowing here in NJ, and its starting to really come down. Yea.. i bet it's crazy up there. :-)

Congrats to all! I got in ED1, I found out on my birthday, Dec 13th! It was a pretty amazing week, the next day i found out i got the lead role in our schools musical, Grease! It's nice to have a place to chat...quick question for you guys...if we're already in, do we still need to send in any further pages for the app, like the mid-year report? It seems pretty redundant to do so, but i just want to confirm. Also, what ddid you guys put in "your space?" I sent in a book of original poetry...i guess they liked it! See you guys in august!

yea you have to send in the mid-year report. They require it, im pretty sure. They want to make sure you're not slacking off. :-)

I was wondering the same thing xTerra but I figured I would tell my guidance counselor to send it in to be safe.

As for the snow, yea, its snowed a lot around here lately. I was planning on going up to walk around and get some stuff but there was a good amount of snow when I woke up Tuesday so that got cancelled. I now plan on going Friday if the weather is good.

Since Im a loser, Ill be taking a good amount of pictures in all liklihood so, yea, hopefully I'll have those up for anyone interested in seeing activity at the school this time of the year.

There is a link with some of the pictures I took today at Vassar and two with a friend at Sacred Heart where she is going.

The school looked really nice today considering everything is covered in snow. We got there too late to catch a tour but we did manage to see a lot just walking around on our own and walking in to places they don't bring you to on the tours, at least the ones I've been on.

Also, first, in walking around Noyes, it would seem that yes, this is the dorm to avoid. The lounge, however interesting it may look, is a mess. It is extremely dirty and the hallways and building itself just seem very worn down.

The other dorm I was able to get into was Cushing. This one again was sort of dissapointing as the pictures of it make it out to be much nicer than it was. Some rooms smelled as if they hadnt been used since the time the buiiding was built; one lounge room in particular had the smell of wood thats been stored somewhere, with the air being very heavy.

Finally, the cafeteria was not as large as I had imagined it but was nice regardless. It seems much larger from the outside than it actually was.

And the people were all very friendly. Two students talked to me a bit and opened the doors for me to get into their dorm buildings and a few helped me get around since I wasn't sure how to get to some buildings, such as the athletics center.

All in all, lot of fun. Enjoy the few pics I took.

Nice pictures, thanks for posting. It looks like it was cold out, though. Hope you didn't get too frozen.

I'm going Feb. 22 for a visit. And I'm sitting in on an art class!!! I'm so excited!

Hello
I got into Vassar ED as well. I'm a bit lazy so I didn't really read all these posts (sorry). Anyhow, I'm really really happy, cuz I love Vassar! My name is Archit. I'm from India, but I live in Venezuela. It's great to have a forum like this one, and I look forward to meeting you all in the fall!
