Class of '09 Who got in

Well I didn' hear yet but if you did and the news was positive, post your location, major, and stats, just so people can get to know eachother.

I got in U of I Champaign in Engineering. I heard a few weeks ago.
I am from out of state......

Should be hearing any day now. How long did it take for you to get a response. They told me around two weeks at the max, and it has been about 12 week days. I'll be there for the Veterans Day Orientation on Thursday, tho.

Good Luck,

Jerod

I'm in.. but I'm not sure if I'm going or not.. probably not. It's weird because I found out so quickly and that wasn't even with my best SAT score... they saw a 1400 but my best went up to a 1470... I may send it in for scholarship consideration.

Edit: in-state btw

Just FYI, UIUC claims not to consider in-state residency for admissions. On the other hand, I've heard that they do make adjustments for competitive high schools, and obviously they're more likely to have heard of Illinois high schools.

I didn't get a package in the mail yet but under "decision" in my web application status page, it said "admit". Does this mean I got in?

Yep, congrats. Your package should be coming soon.

I was accepted about 3 weeks ago. I'm not sure I'm going to enroll. I'm also applying to Columbia, Cornell, Duke, Princeton UVA, Vanderbilt, Wake Forest and Yale.

I had a 1450 SAT and a 34 on the ACT - In State

I got in, even though I created a mess with my application there :)
Computer Engineering!
In-state and all, probably where I'm going because we don't have a lot of money and even though with financial aid it may end up costing the same as others, I think I'll personally enjoy UIUC.

How long after your Online Application's Decision was Pending did it take to know if you were accepted or not? Also, I haven't heard, but how does UIUC go about class rank ? Do they use Weighted or Unweighted because my school does not give out any weight to any classes, including AP. Do they do any ajustments to the unweighted ranks.

Jerod

Decision could come within a few weeks after you apply or it could take a long time. UIUC tends to make easy decisions first and to hold many until all applications are in. If high school does not rank, it will try to evaluate what your rank might be based on its knowledge of the school or, alternatively, use grades and courses taken as a key to evaluation rather than rank. One issue is whether your school partly ranks -- many that do not rank actually do provide, as part of the information with your transcript, the GPA where the top 10%, top 25%, and top 50% begin, in which case that information will also be relied on.

I got in too, but I hope I don't end up going there... its too big for me (just a very good backup school).

In state - 1520

I'm so nervous i havn't heard yet, but we'll see. Is it true that if you apply Priority, they have to tell you by Dec. 1st?

I havent gotten anything in the mail yet...but on my online app thing it says "Admit" for Decision....so according to spunknic347 i got in?? but ahh i wanna see the real proof of my acceptance in my hands! when is it gonna comeeee??

Yeah, you got in Sonya.

oo, do you know when i will be getting the packet in the mail??

Applied Nov 1 for Computer Engineering
Out-of-state: Maryland
Female, Korean

From above: "Is it true that if you apply Priority, they have to tell you by Dec. 1st?"

No. Applying by priority date means your app will be reviwed before those who do not and they "may" give you a decision by early December, but they can, as they do with many, hold a decision on you until later, including until after all apps are in and they can then compare you to the complete pool of persons applying for admission.

I just found out I got in this morning! Man that's a weight off my shoulders

Location: Crystal Lake, IL (near CHI)
34 ACT composite and top 9%
Computer Science in the college of engineering

woooooooooooooooooooooooo
yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh wooooooo hooooooo

Yay Sonya! Another female in Computer Engineering!
:)

haha yess im not alone =P Where are you from, Meng?
