Class of '10??

From Nepal as well. Got accepted but I haven't been informed of finaid stat so I dunno right now if I'll attend. The plus thing is that I've got a cousin studying there, which will definitely help me adapt!

Hey! I just wanted to tell ya'll that Randy-Mac really is a wonderful school. I've been here for 2 years and I love it. If ya'll have any questions, email me at sjsimms@rmwc.edu =)

So have you been notified about the financial aid?
I hope everything works with you and you must be getting informations from you cousin too.
Good luck!!

Hey! Yes, I was. But it was by email. They said that they would send the letter and it still hasnt arrived.... Now I am a little bit worried.

But hey girls, dont worry, I am sure you all will get good financial Aid, RandyMac is really generous with it, it seems!~

Another alum checking in. It's great to see the interest here! I had a very positive experience at R-MWC.

I definitely haven't been here for a while, but I did decide to come to R-MWC after all...I'm soooooo excited!!! And by the looks of things, there are quite a few people here going too that I'm going to enjoy getting to know. :-D Just 3 more months!!!

Just wanted to congratulate all of you who have been accepted to Randolph-Macon. I graduated from there in 1980 and have the best memories of my four years there. I never saw the college before arriving there for classes. I was coming from Texas and had never been away from home except to my grandparents in OK. I realize now how risky that probably was, but I loved my time at R-M. I also participated in the Reading, England program and that changed my life forever. You're in for a super time and are going to make lifelong friends who will stand by you through everything. Congratulations!

Randolph Macon is a great college, but you may go bankrupt paying for that hefty tuition cost. Guess RM needs to pay for the Deans high paying salary(close to 400,000K a year) Hope you enjoy this institution!

Wow, Justinian! That’s some opinion. Did you apply to or attend Randolph-Macon Woman’s College? Though I’ve chosen to attend another school, R-MWC was one of my top three choices, and I really disagree with you on this issue.

I’m sure you’re aware that R-MWC’s tuition is actually very competitive in regard to schools that are its equals. In 2005, U.S. News & World Report’s “America’s Best Colleges” tied R-MWC and Washington & Jefferson (in Pennsylvania) for #83 for Best Liberal Arts Colleges in the country. R-MWC had a tuition of $21,740; W&J’s was $24,620.

Plus, I personally found R-MWC to be very generous with financial aid. 95% of their students receive financial aid of some kind. In fact, the average financial aid package for Class of 2007 students is $19,400. (That’s according to R-MWC’s official website, <a href="http://rmwc.edu/financialaid/tuition_fees.asp%5B/url%5D">http://rmwc.edu/financialaid/tuition_fees.asp</a>.)</p>

In terms of the debt load students graduate with, did you realize that for the Class of 2003, R-MWC women had $3,619 LESS debt than Virginia Tech students? (Again, that information is from the 2005 Edition of U.S. News & World Report’s “America’s Best Colleges.”)

I’d be very interested to hear where it is you see that Randolph-Macon Woman’s College is forcing its students to “go bankrupt paying for that hefty tuition cost.”

~Emily

With me they've been more than generous with student aid. My parents will only only have to pay 8,000 and I will be taking a relatively small loan. By no means I'll be going bankrupt! Most of the students I've met are on scholarship, too!

That's been exactly my experience with R-MWC. Yes, the initial price tag is steep but they work hard to make it financially possible for students that they feel will make a contribution to the community. Congratulations!

I wasn't criticizing the school; I said it was great. I just said that I thought their tuition was steep. But oh well!

Hi everybody, I'm an international student and I received a decent scholarship package from RMWC. But the remainder can still be too much for my family. I want to know if it is possible to earn $5K/year during the summer and winter holidays. Are there many internship opportunities at RMWC?

You might check with the international students admissions officer at Macon, Holly Folkening (the link below will tell you about her and give you a way to e-mail her). She's probably in the best position to answer your questions. My daughter has found the admissions staff to be extremely helpful and kind. If Holly can't answer your questions, I bet she'll put you in touch with someone who can. Congratulations on being accepted and deciding to attend.
