Class of '11

One-one or eleven?

And what's more . . . "Two-thousand eleven" or "Twenty-eleven?"

Good question. I have absolutely no idea.

I'd go with "Twenty-eleven" myself. It's the easiest and takes the least time to say.

I tend to say "eleven" and "two thousand eleven", as a member of said College class.
But seriously...does it matter?

I've been wondering this for seven years. In the last millenium, we used seventeen-eleven, eighteen-eleven, nineteen-eleven, etc. If we're going to switch from two-thousand seven to twenty-something, when will we do it? At the end of "two-thousand nine?" And if we're not going to change to twenth-something, who made the call on ending the 17, 18, 19, 20 continuity?

I don't know if it's necessary to stop with "two-thousand __" until we hit 21...then, presumably, people will say "twenty-one eleven", etc. But hey, I could be in the minority when it comes to saying "two thousand".

I think it'll be interchangeable.

o-leven, besides its the upperclassmen who'll decide.
