After considering a gap year, I'm pretty sure I'll be applying this summer. Anyone else?

I will be as well! What schools were you thinking about??

Right now I'm thinking: South Carolina, MUSC (SC resident), UNC, Duke, Wake Forest, Emory, UVA, Vanderbilt, Wash U, Georgetown, Pittsburgh, Baylor. Some of these (Baylor, Wash U, Georgetown, Wake Forest) I'm a little iffy about, but I've been told to shoot for at least 12, so those are sorta my fringe schools.

And you?

My D is a '14er also. The list? All the Texas schools and ..........maybe all the non-Texas schools. She'll need to whittle that down some. ;)

I'm still on the fence over '14 or gap+'15. I think I'm going to go with the gap year though.

The thing with me was that if I do a gap year, I want it to be abroad. But since I need to be around for interviews, I'd have to go next year and then come back for my "senior" year. For a number of reasons, I decided that wasn't the way I wanted to go with this. My university's fellowships office is pushing for me to apply for the Fulbright, something that if would probably be a pretty good reason to ask for a deferral. We'll see, though.

im actually waiting for my MCAT score and then I'll decide...right now, by GPA isn't that great, so I really need that 32+...
