Class of 18 Roll Call...who's applied and who's been accepted

kjcphmom~

Congratulations!!!

Yay! Congrats.

Texasmom - Congratulations to your son! Will he be swimming on the varsity team or a club team? My daughter just applied to University of Alabama, and just waiting to hear back. She is also a swimmer and is applying to 8 schools, half of which she’d be on the varsity swim team and the other half where she’s not fast enough for the varsity team. Thought it’d be great if there’s a University of Alabama club team should she choose to continue swimming. After reading all the positive and passionate feedback about UA, and with her qualifying for the Presidential Scholarship, I told her we need to look at Alabama. Hoping to visit soon!

1dilecon - Alabama unfortunately does not have a club swim team. But they do have a club tri-a-thon team.

1dilecon Yes he will be a Varsity swimmer. If your daughter could be a varsity swimmer at another college you might have her contact the coaching staff at Bama and see if she could be a walk on, once she gets to school in the fall.

ahsmuoh - Thanks for the info on the triathlon club - I will definitely suggest that to her as a possibility.

TexasMomalso - Congratulations to your son making the varsity team - that is awesome! Looking at their times on collegeswimming.com, they are a really fast team. What a great accomplishment to be able to swim with them. My daughter is being recruited primarily by D3 schools, but the triathlon club may be a good option for her if she goes to UA. Best wishes to your son for a great short course season!

1dilecon

I just did a search on the
usa swimming site and it looks like there is a USA swim club swim team.
Here is a link to the page. Not a college club team however a USA club team.

TexasMomalso - Thanks! I discovered the UA Masters Group under Crimson Tide Aquatics earlier today when I was googling University of Alabama rising Tide, after seeing your earlier post. Good to know there are some other options.
