Class of 2006 Dissatisfied with Advising, Social Experience

you might want to post this article in your quest to educate everyone about the dangers of urban schools. Maybe Harvard will release a guidebook for walking around campus at night, especially for those trekking up to the quad which I understand can be a harrowing experience.

A male Harvard undergraduate was robbed at gunpoint early this morning just a few meters from the Quad, police said.

The victim, whose name has not been released, reported to police that at around 2:30 a.m., he was approached by three men as he walked on the corner of Garden and Sheppard streets.

According to a community advisory released by the Harvard University Police Department (HUPD), the victim reported that one of the men, who appeared to be carrying a handgun, then threw him to the ground and ordered him to hand over his possessions. After handing over his wallet and cell phone, the victim reported, one of the suspects then struck him in the head with the handgun.

The suspects then fled the scene.

According to the release, the victim was treated for “minor injuries” before being released.

The incident, which took place at an intersection that borders the Radcliffe Quad campus, comes only one day after Dean of the College Benedict H. Gross ’71 announced that the Cambridge Police Department (CPD) was increasing the number of police patrols assigned to the Quad.

According to the advisory, the victim was not able to provide detailed descriptions of the suspects to police.

Because the incident did not occur on Harvard University property, it is currently being investigated by the CPD.

HUPD spokesman Steven G. Catalano declined to comment on the record for this article. CPD spokesman Frank T. Pasquarello could not be reached for comment.

Nice bump.

I really get under your skin, don't I? Have you been stewing on this all week? One more piece of advice: try not to get bothered quite so easily. ;)

http://www.hupd.harvard.edu/designated_paths.php

sorry cosar to burst your bubble but no, you don't get under my skin. don't give yourself that much credit. you're just another comedic parent if anything.

And that map of Harvard designated routes is extremely useful.

Right.

For some reason, the phrase quod erat demonstrandum comes to mind. :)

I see you're not a psychiatrist then
Though the word Effexor comes to mind from your posts

You seem even more hostile than usual, lately.

I'm edgy about the game tomorrow ;)

Did you read the crimson today? Somewhere in the dregs of the sports section was this:

"First of all, an apology is in order. I’ve devoted no shortage of words this past month to the success of post-arrest Yale sophomore tailback Mike McLeod. I’ve neglected to mention, this entire time, the left tackle he’s been running in front of, Ed McCarthy, the best pro prospect in the Ivy League. The guy’s a monster and the anchor of the Bulldogs’ successful running game. "

Yes, I saw that. Interesting that the YDN has still had absolutely nothing to say about the McLeod affair. He seems to be a bit undisciplined (ie, the foolish penalty last week that fortunately didn't cost the team given the opponent.) Yale should have no trouble running on Brown. Harvard really crushed them in a game that was not as close as the score indicated. Dawson barely played in the second half, as Murphy cleared the bench. The Brown QB is a good passer, but if they get behind, he can be counted on for an interception or three.

oh man, I watched the Brown Yale game on TV, and well, we'll be lucky to split the last two games of the season. We couldn't stop the run, so I don't know how we are going to stop Dawson. Abare was amazing, but even with his heroics, it was way too close. McLeod passed Dick Jaroun for 8th most rushing yards in a single season for yale (I think).
