God, i hate that about myself, but then again, it doubles the amount of books and authors i know about, which is always good, i guess?...</p>

<p>Exactly. I remember about a month ago on Jeopardy, the category was "20th Century Novels" or something...the clue was (and I paraphrase to the best of my memory of both clue and passage): It begins--"'To be reborn,' said Gibreel Farishta as he tumbled from the heavens, 'first you have to die.'"</p>

<p>Seeing as how I'd read half of The Satanic Verses, I knew the answer (or question, rather). :D</p>
