Hello, fellow Cardinals! Take the time to introduce yourselves: where you're from, your hobbies, whether you've started making up your dorm checklist, favourite jello flavour, etc etc.

I'm from Kuwait, completely staggered by the Stanford acceptance, and will most probably attend this fall. I had my heart set on the University of Chicago, but I haven't received a decision yet and have decided that I'd like to spend the next four years of my life in shorts and flip-flops. Going from extremely hot weather to insanely cold winters, a sheltered life to big-city scares, and a peaceful suburban area to such a busy city will be too big a shock for me, I suppose.

I'm insanely friendly and can't wait to meet my fellow students in the fall. Just saying 'the fall' has got me all excited - Kuwait only has two seasons, bloody hot summers and moderately cold winters (unbelievably cold if you're in the desert)

i'm totally psyched! nearly fell off my chair when i saw the word 'congratulations' in my email. i'm leaning towards stanford (yay!) but still not 100% sure, so dumdeedum... o_O

i'm insanely excited and also kinda freaked at the thought of meeting all you awesomely brilliant people. yeah, my self-esteem is gonna plummet. HAHa :) just kidding. haven't received my pcakage... i love strawberry jello... i love chicken... i love watching movies (seriously, this can be a huge problem during my revision breaks.)

hey! I'm from Singapore (SCEA acceptee) so I've known for a while! but it was a huge shock!!!! :) a good one... and I'm getting REALLY psyched now that all the RD decisions are out too and it's becoming a reality!!! i'm sending off my enrollment card today :)! wow i can't believe i get to live out my dreammmm! this is so coooL! haha soz just very excited. anyways i love watching tv and movies as well... LOVE chocolate and japanese/chinese/italian food! and hmmm ALIAS ROCKS!!! i just spent my entire 2 week holiday watching the first 2 seasons of alias coz i got the dvds! sad i know... but its addictive!

I know, reading the "Congratulations!" was probably one of the most amazing feelings I've had. I KNEW I was going to get rejected, I was absolutely positive...and then the shock just shattered all that!

But I just received my admit package from Chicago today and I'M ALL CONFUSED AGAIN! I HATE this indecisiveness and it will probably be the death of me one day. In fact, my essay was about my indecisiveness - the only thing I like about this horrible wavering is the fact that it got me into university!!!!

The only school I was jumping up and down after getting accepted was Stanford. And I did that repeatedly, once after reading the front on the envelope and once after opening it.

zephyr--I totally understand what you mean about Stanford being the only school you were jumping up and down for. I was definitely jumping from the mailbox to my doorstep in the snow and I don't think my feet touched the ground for the next week:)

yeh me too! i got accepted to georgetown SFS yesterday, as well as oxford after stnaford, and I wasn't half as excited. haha with stanford i started screaming and jumping up and down madly! kimberkool: haha yeh i find marshall SO cute, he's hilarious! btw, what do u guys think? stnaford or gtown SFS (i wanna do intnl relations), i somehow feel ill end up at stanford no matter what coz im in LOOOOVE with it, but i am also a bit confused since its DC vs. california and gtown is specialized in that subject!

Before i make my final decision does anybody know how good the food is at stanford i know the weather and everything is nice but hows the food?!?

I lived 45 minutes away from Stanford, so I can't wait until I can bring my car onto campus (unfortunately, that's not going to happen during the 1st year)

oneUnknown, come to AW, and eat the good!! My friends say it's better than MIT's food, and I would say so too because I have eaten at both places.

krud, can't make admit week cuz i need a plane. or a plane ticket.

anyway! i like marshall he's so funnny. :) geeks are funny. cuz i'm one too. riiiiiiiiiight... my sister just said "you're not a geek, you're an uber nerd!" riiiight...

i started jumping up and down too! then i fell over. seriously, i nearly fell out of my chair when i opened my email! yayyy

Does anyone know if the shuttle system is adequate? Obviously, I'm going to go with the flow and get a bike, but I was just curious about the bus.

oneunknown, I read in the Princeton Review that the restaurants in Stanford town are great, but too expensive. That's one thing I don't like - the surrounding town. I wonder how far away San Fransisco is from campus.
