Class of 2009, Where are you applying BESIDES IVIES

USC
NYU
Georgia Tech
UIUC
U Washington
UC Davis
U Maryland
Boston U

I am not applying to ANY ivies.

Georgetown
Johns Hopkins
Tufts
George Washington
American
NYU
UPitt

no ivy league schools for me!
my list right now is:
carleton (reach)
macalester
oberlin
kenyon
knox
willamette

csulb, sfsu, csun (super back up school)

Stanford, something in the Claremont Consortium (probably Pomona or HMC), CMU, NWU (maybe).

UCB
UVA
John Hopkins
Rice
WashU
maybe UMich?

Georgetown (but I’m applying specifically to McDonough School of Business which is wicked-hard to get into so the app process will be ivy-level stress anyway!)
UVA
Vanderbilt
William and Mary (safety)
Wake Forest (safety)

Ignoring that naive generalization, I’ll mention that the main features of its architecture are sandstone buildings and red-tile rooftops (Mission Revival architecture)… there’s no orange in sight.

I’m not even particularly fond of Stanford’s architecture–it really is like an overgrown Taco Bell–but come on, orange? It’s obvious you haven’t really looked into the school–in multiple senses of the word. :)

First choice, Appalachian State early decision. If for some reason I don’t get in there, then UNC Wilmington or UNC Charlotte.

BMS-

W&M has a lower acceptance rate and higher SAT scores than UVirginia. You might want to recategorize just so you wont be dissappointed. Good luck.

Good point , doctorb. I had also not seen Wake Forest considered a safety school, but dont know the posters stats or hooks.

As of today, the only four I am applying to for sure are:
Rice
Northwestern
Amherst
Scripps
and U of A.

But I will may also apply to:
U Colorado-Boulder
Wesleyan
Emory
Michigan
Princeton (my only ivy school, my brother is going there right now &i am going to visit him this fall, if i like it…i will apply. but it’s probably gonna be a big reach even though i am stronger academically than my bro)

LOL tinker! Don’t major in math! :D

UCSD, UCLA, UCB, WashU

All the UC’s (except riverside and merced)
Stanford
Rice
Wash U
Emory
Vanderbilt
Johns Hopkins
Pomona (maybe)

Bard
DePaul
Georgetown
Lewis & Clark
Macalester
UC Davis
Chicago
Oregon
Vassar
Wesleyan

Bard, Georgetown, Vassar, and Wesleyan may fall off my list… and DePaul and Chicago might be subject to change after I visit the area. The only ones i’m sure about as of now are Lewis & Clark, Macalester, and Davis… oh and Oregon for sheer safety.

For some reason, I was sure that the OP would be applying to Rice…

My ever changing list: Occidental, Lehigh, Northeastern, American U, SUNY- Stony Brook, Quinnipiac, and Syracuse

My list (including some lesser-known places): University of Michigan, Michigan State University (I’m from Michigan…), Kalamazoo College, Albion College, Providence College, University of Richmond, Villanova University

Stanford, UC Berkeley, and UCLA.
I hope I get into Stanford though :p
