Class Of 2009

OK guys..armandolean's "what happened" makes a lot of sense-I think its time we got into the groove

Let this be the forum where we discuss our concerns and questions regarding the college we will all be attending next Fall... Let us not discuss SAT scores and ECs (of course, we might help out the occassional RDer)

I am not such a great conversation starter...I hope someone picks up an interesting topic to start off

do you think this is too pompous?

Too pompous??? Hmmm, I don't see what you would be calling pompous, but maybe I am missing something.

I think we lost a lot of people after the decisions and even those accepted probably feel less reason to chat on the forum now that their anxiety has subsided. For example, I don't find as much reason to come on the forum simply because I don't have much to say... Plus, when people don't post as often it isn't as fun to talk on the forum. Now if people kept posting like they did before I might post more, too.

I guess sometimes when things die down they just continue to die down unless they are re-energized.

It does stink that people aren't posting much anymore because I still have a lot of hmmm excitement about attending Williams and I don't really know what to do with it. I'm anxious to get my financial letter. IT sure is nice though to be done with all the ACT, class rank, etc. crap. Halleluijah - don't know how to spell. Anyway, I think you are going to have to re-energize this forum gandalf! :)

Well, I've not been posting much lately either...
I got a letter from the Fin Aid office saying that my request was incomplete (missing non-custodial parent form) but my father is totally unavailable (as in I have no clue where he is, etc) so we sent a letter explaining that but I guess they must have missed something... I'm calling tomorrow morning to see if we can get it straightened out.

Oh, and I might get a B in calculus but I don't think I care that much because they wont rescind their offer for a B right?

I'm am so excited about Williams! I found a very cool poem about purple cows, which is where the mascot might be from:
I never saw a purple cow,
I never hope to see one;
But I can tell you, anyhow,
I'd rather see than be one!

The author (Gelett Burgess) became so angry that this became his best know work that he wrote "Confession: and a Portrait Too, Upon a Background that I Rue:"
Ah yes, I wrote The Purple Cow,
I'm sorry now I wrote it;
But I can tell you, anyhow,
I'll kill you if you quote it!

You can read some cool stuff about the college here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Williams_College

I know most of this was useless crap, but hey we're on vacation...what else have we got to do?

Hey.. I have no idea as to who all have got in through ED

As far as I know, these are the only guys from this forum
1. hopeman
2.leonesa
3.armandolean
4.zss
5.gandalf

anyone else?

i did too!

armandoleon - i got a B in physics first semester too, and a B+ in calc. i'm pretty sure you're okay. i'm just going to keep telling myself that regardless :)

Yeah nikki... Sorry I didn't add you. I remembered only after I left this thread :)

armandolean..I really don't think it matters at all..you've just got to pass. Will they ask for end of the year reports?

I did three (get in)

i'm not sure if williams requires end-of-year reports, but i would imagine they do. in any event, my school sends them out to whichever school we choose to enroll at. i think that in order to confirm our successful completion of the academic year, they would use our end-of-year transcript. just my two cents.

I got in too. Man I am excited.

Congratulations gimpage! Curious, what were your stats and hooks?

umm 800v/ 740M SATII's 730, 710, 700 Rank:7/528
by hooks you mean things i do? Two varsity teams (soccer and tennis), lots of volunteering, president of two associations, Boy's stater and other leadership conferences. orchestra. Stuff like that

By hooks, I meant things that help got you in. For me, living in rural Minnesota seemed to help get me in.

Anyway, nice SAT 1 score.... See ya at Williams next year! :)

What state are you from? (I was a (Girl) Stater, too. Did you run for anything?)

I was a Boy Stater too =).
