Class of 2009

Hey - is anyone applying or has been accepted yet?

I'm applying Early Action..HaHa I will have to FedEx my App I think because I still haven't finished my Essay.

i got accepted last weekend (10/23) and got my scholarship letter yesterday :) vermont's sounding pretty nice....

sEAN DUFFY???? SEAN, IS THAT YOU!!!!

Hey Caidrogen, I got accepted a couple of weeks ago (10/2) and I got my scholarship letter too! While Vermont is not exactly my first choice, like you said its sounding really nice! Where else are you applying?

and Sean540 - good luck!

I just got my acceptence today online. Still yet to receive my financial aid stuff.

Hi gdgrules...No I'm not Sean Duffy. Does anyone know what type of financial aid I would get with a 32 ACT, GPA: 4.07, and Class Rank: Top 14% out of 700? Thanks

Hey Sean, actually I think you're asking more what merit money you would get for that because financial aid is primarily need based. UVM has a whole scholarship page online (sorry i dont have the link on me) which you can figure out which ones you qualify for.

Yeah I was asking about merit money. Thanks for the info.

ok i got defered anyone want to guess how that happened? I'm in shock.

Sean-

I think it may be because your ACT and GPA is too good for UVM, you don't fit their profile. Was this your safety school? Did you visit and show interest or did you just apply? One of my friends was deferred from her safety school, last year, but she got into all her reach schools. You can never be sure. Did you really want to go here? Where else did you apply? I haven't heard anything yet. SAT 1320, GPA 3.9, NHS, SNHS, Varsity Capt. Club founder, lots of ECs, wonder if I'll get in........

My sons stats are in your ballpark (4.0, 1420, 760 math) and he got accepted. We did not get scholarship letter yet. What was your stated major?

Seems odd you did not get in.

OK, I got deferred too, how crazy it that....I'm shocked. I went back to look at the UVM decision site again and the info is gone. I wanted to look again, I can't even believe it!

HAHAHAH that sucks for you out of staters. At my school (like 2 miles from campus) we automatically get in with a 3.0 GPA and good reference letter from the guidnace counselor. By the way, those of you that do get in, it's a sweet city and real nice school. Sports are getting better every week too.

Jtran10-

Sounds like a great school! Hug a tree for me when you get there!

haha, i dont think i'm gonna end up giong there (its my safety). but theres many trees to hug here in vermont!

I was accepted to Vermont (with scholarship money), but it was my safety. I haven't been to the campus yet - but can anybody tell me about it? Thanks!

Urban (as urban as vt gets), but lots of green space to study/play/whatever. Just up the hill from the lake. Hockey is real popular, basketball is gaining. Frosh dorms are not too far away from main campus, but are across main street. Redstone campus is new and really nice (music/dorms here). Any more questions?

hey, my info page said deferred too, and now the info is gone. there was a thing at the bottom for a while(while the info was up) about how to confirm your decision by going back to the app. status box and making sure your decision was written there too, and mine wasn't, so i think that means it's not real - probably a mistake. i hope it was a mistake...

I got accepted also, and vermont is also my safety, but I do love what I know of it. I was wondering if all of you who recieved money filed FAFSA's or not. I didn't, but does that mean that I will not qualify for merit-based aid? but here are my stats:

GPA: 3.189 (yes, it's very low, but at my school they don't give up a boost for ANY honors or AP classes EVER)
10th grade: sci H, math H, spanish H, english H, history reg
11th grade: sci reg, math H, spanish H, english H, history reg
12th grade: AP bio, AP calculus, AP spanish, english 12, senior focus
(senior focus: similar to a senior thesis program, our school has won awards for it.)

ACT: 33 composite
(i don't do SAT...:-))
