Seeing that 2006 APs are now on the phone......how many and what credits are the members of the class of 2010 coming into NU with?

I have a question about that, what is "elective credit"? Anyone know?

are AP scores on the phone free? or do they cost $8?

Also, when do we get them in the mail?

i actually have that question also

IIRC APs are sent in mid-july. They cost $ to get them early by phone.

I took the US History one after taking just an honors history course, and I think I did pretty bad on it. For the people that have gotten 4/5, do you usually feel confident that you did a good job? Or does one always finish with a feeling of doubt?

Because one of the essays I knew perfectly, but there was one that I don't think I did so hot on. I'm hoping for at least a 3, a score that wont help me, but hopefully won't hurt me either. If I get a 2, does that hurt my chances at NU, since it wasn't taken after an actual AP class?

ellano...
this is going to come out the wrong way (i'm not in any way trying to brag) but I came out of the apush test so upset because i thought i did horribly. i thought i completely screwed up my dbq. but i ended up getting a 4. i think everyone ends with a felling of doubt. don't worry.

and you choose if you want to send in your ap scores (somebody please correct me if i'm wrong). so you don't need to send in your score but it will definitely look good that you even took the ap test after not having a class to prep you. i am no admission officer by any means....heck i'm only going to be a senior....but if i were looking at an application that had an ap test after not taking an ap course, i would think that says something about that person.

I ended up slacking off during APs and got no credit. Is this going to be a problem going to NU with zero credit? I'm in the LOC program at SESP and any imput would be appreciated.

Well, it's not going to help you, you will just have to take a normal courseload (whereas people with APs will be able to take a few more quarters with easy schedules/fewer classes). It won't really be an issue unless you plan on double majoring, in which case you will have to talk to your advisor about how to handle it and maybe you will need to take a quarter of five classes or something. But it shouldn't matter, because SESP advisors are amazing, and I think your class limits how many APs can get you out of distros and stuff. (And yay for LOC. I might end up being your peer adviser.)

I got a 5 on Calc AB, which lets me completely place out of my "natural sciences" or whatever its called distros.
A 5 on US Hist. gets me "2 free history electives" and a 5 on US Gov't gets one free poli sci elective. Sadly a 4 on world hist, gets me nothing. But the electives can't be used for getting me closer to a major or a minor in Poli Sci or History (both of which are viable options to me) and they also can't be used as distros.
So, I'm 5 classes closer to graduation, but no closer to a major or a minor.
