EA apps: 3869
EA admits: 813
EA admit rate: 21%
EA rejected: 151
EA deferred: 2,905
EA admitted after deferral (estimated): 183
EA deferred admit rate (estimated) 6.3%

Admitted from waiting list: 17

RD apps: 18,885
RD admits (including EA deferreds): 1,311
RD admit rate (including EA deferreds - pool total: 21,790): 6%

Male apps: 11,030
Males admitted: 1,101
Male matriculants: 803
Male admit rate: 9.9%
Male yield rate: 78.5%

To token adult:
Either estimated myself, or obtained estimates from knowledgable people who had seen the numbers but didn't have them directly at hand today.

To zephyr:
I would estimate 52.5% of the 1,683 matriculants (813 X 92% + 183 X 75%)

Interesting that despite having a lower admit rate, there are 78 more women in the class than males. Hard to think that it was just a year or two ago when for the first time, an entering class at Harvard had more females than males, and I think that the difference was just one or two more female than male students.

Also interesting to note that despite its image of having somewhat a more "aggressive" (or what have you) student body, and being somewhat more science-oriented than most other Ivies, the yield rate is slightly higher for females than males.

Thank you for compiling all of this Byerly! It's really interesting to look at all this data, especially the week before I submit my application :)

I put up the numbers exactly as they were given to me (except where I have made minor estimates in re deferred EA admits).

BUT ... I now note that everything doesn't compute.

803 males + 881 females DOES add up to the total reported of 1,684, and the reported 1,101 male admits and 1,023 female admits DOES add up to the reported 2,124 total admits....

BUT ... that would mean a male yield rate of 73%, and a female yield rate of 85.9%. I don't think these percentages are accurate, and they certainly aren't the yield percentages expressly provided in the report I have.

I'll have to check this stuff out tomorrow and ask the powers that be where the error is.

EDIT: OK ... I found the error in the numbers given me! There were 1,101 females admitted, and 1,023 males - not the other way around. If you make that change, almost everything else - including the matriculant numbers and yield rates by gender - computes. The revised admit rates by gender - which I calculated earlier based on the inverted admit numbers given me - are 9.3% for males, and 9.4% for females (Sorry, Northstarmom!)
