Class of 2010: How's it been?

Thanks for that post, mwbashful. That all sounds awesome.

A lot of stuff is overrated. I have 4 classes and did absolutely nothing in high school and I am managing quite fine. The only one that is causing any problems is spanish because I have never taken it before and we have a quiz every class and our entire class was in spanish from day 1 (not that big of a deal if you have taken it before, but it was 101 and it was me and a bunch of asian kids with 0 spanish experience).

There is TONS of stuff to do here. I really doubt anybody who has any interest will have a hard time finding somewhere to party. There is a bar night on Wednesday at one of the frats that tons of people go to and plenty of parties Friday and Saturday (including quite a few cocktail parties, if that interests you). There are things going on the rest of the week, too, but on a smaller scale. Levitt is coming to Max P to give a talk... pretty nice. If you are in a sport, you will have plenty to do. School + study + sport will take up most of your week then, if you want, party fri/sat night, study sunday. Pretty normal schedule for most.

I will say that if you are in a dorm other than Max and maybe Shoreland, you are definitely going to have a different experience and anyone who tells you otherwise has no clue. Go into Barlett and check out the Snell-Hitchcock table and then check out one of the MaxP tables (Graham house for brooke and I) and you will see what I mean. Not so much anymore since quite a few people skip meals or sit at different tables, but it is pretty obvious when you are first there. If you want a more social college experience, get into Max.

I understand studying will pick up later in the quarter and year, but I don't see it anymore than I would expect at a decent school.

also--- Chicago is in Chicago! City! Woohoo! And Doc Films has something good on every night. There's intramural sports, there's tons of volunteer opportunities, there are too many coffee shops to count... There's so much to do my head hurts.
