Going up to DC to see schools there after I get out of school

I'm instate :D

and I'm done with school may 5th maybe earlier depending when my exams are

Woah! We haven't got out in May since like...elementary school. And my school starts mid-August!
I think we get out June 6th or something. Like right before the June SATs?

I'm so jealous of seniors..their last day is basically the day before AP exams since we don't have to come back to school if we have an AP exam that day. But after AP exams...school is gonna be a breeze. I'll be free to skip a couple days here and there and all I'll be missing is some movie time.

I never got to go to UNC when we visited NC...we went to Duke though. It was alright. I think my expectations were too high.

I'm going to Harvard, MIT, and Dartmouth over Spring Break. I'll probably be at UChicago the last weekend of May (and Northwestern, but because my sister goes there, not to visit). I spend almost a month per year in DC, so I'll go to Georgetown and GW (my mother's graduate alma mater! Also have to visit her undergrad school, Cornell) whenever I'm around. I'll probably also have to go to UMaryland because my cousin wants to go there. Pfft.

I really want to visit WashU, but I don't think I'll get to.

My school always starts August 12th ish. This year we're getting out on like May 22nd. We never get out in June. We run on a slightly different schedule than all the other publics here though. they often get out in early June and start around August 19th ish.

my spring break starts in 2 weeks...FML.

my spring break ended a week ago

2 weeks???? Man, that's a late spring break. The weather will be nicer then though..It's still kinda cool here..not as hot as I would've liked.
I don't think I got one shade darker this spring break.

Yeah, I expected Duke to be like amazing. And...it wasn't. I went with a couple of friends and we were really restless and bored throughout the whole tour.

@Millancad--UM jealous? You're visiting some amazing schools! I wanted to go NE to visit some schools since that's where I want to go but it's too far away. We're doing some more midwest tours later. Probably UChicago, Northwestern, Vanderbilt, Rice

Ahh we went to DC a few years back but geez, I wasn't even thinking about college back then so we never visited Georgetown.

Yea I went deaf. doctors don't know how though since my ears look fine internally, or so thats what my mom told me =/

Oh well, I'm stuck with this for life...

I would really really like to have a tan right now. ...SUmmer's so far away.

..You know, when you try on all those summer clothes but they all look kinda funky because you're so white? Like..you have to imagine whether they'll look good on you when you're 2908374239 shades darker? I really hate that. And I really want to go spring/summer shopping. Because...that's my fav shopping season. Ever.

...Just a random thought.

Smile just curous, y were u wondering if I went deaf? lol, I speak truth

Oh no! I'm so sorry about your ears. I hope you're doing ok :(

Hahaha yeah, I really want to go kinda far away for college. Even though the state school is like on the other side of the town, I still wouldn't like that..
Imagine hanging out with your friends downtown and running into your mom. Ick.

I would really really really really like to go NE. Or ...I guess just east for that matter. Like..I really really do. I'm pretty determined to go there. Maybe west. But not very likely. And I would REALLY like to get out of the south. And this middle part of the country haha. The only thing holding me back from WashU (not that I'm saying I would get in)...I really liked it though.

(hahahah I used "really" like a million times)

Oh, about the deaf thing.

Umm because you mentioned it in an earlier post?
And ....I just wanted to know if it was true or if you were just throwing it in there with all the other bad stuff. Sorry I doubted you!

Nah its ok. I guess I have to learn to deal with it, I mean only a few people at my school know, but overall (its been 1 year since it happened), i have lost a lot of friends because I couldn't hear them and they eithe rthought I was an idiot or arrogant, or maybe that I'm deaf. but eh, even if I do tell them, they mite laugh? idk, i mean I have friends but noone really close, you know? I try my best to talk and have a convo but it gest hard...sorry for ranting i'm just sad rite now

That must be tough. I don't really think they would laugh though...I mean, honestly, it's really not a funny subject. I don't see any humor in that at all. Even if they're not best friends, they should still be supportive and all.

But yeah, sorry about thinking it wasn't true. I thought you did that to exaggerate haha :) Oops.

Yea maybe, but I don't want to risk it and forever be called the "deaf" kid...although i'm not sure what people call me now..... theres nothing wrong with that term, its just that people can have some "smirk" (or w/e the name is) attitude when they talk about diabilities

IDK I wish I had someone to explain this to besides my parents, who are supportive of me and all. I seriously am stumped on how I am going to survive in college because atleast one day of every single week, I come home 'crying' because I had a bad day

yay go class of 2010, even though the class of 2010 at my school sucksssss.
gah ima stress out for AP's soon
and SAT II's
and summer
essays
gah
college apps

no senioritis for me either..taking 3 college classes..fml

You'll be fine! I think you'll learn to talk about it eventually...you know, and just flaunt it. Be proud of who you are. It'll take some time though..
Really sorry you're in this situation..

@tomjonesistheman--Hahah yeah the class of 2010 at my school definitely isn't the genius class. We have some reallllllly smart people but they just don't try very hard and are happy just going to the state school. Which is a shame, because they can do so much better..

AHHHH. I told myself I would study for APs over spring break...hahah what was I thinking? I didn't crack one book open. I can't wait for APs to be over. Everything after that won't be as bad because it's more spread out instead of crammed in 2 weeks.

THREE college classes? My goodness. I have a case of senioritis already, if that's possible.

Did anybody go anywhere interesting for spring break?

We start choosing our senior classes next week I think. We meet with our advisors or whatever like a couple of times and then we officially choose them the first week of April. It'll be the last time we choose high school classes guys!! I'm quite excited. I love choosing classes. Except for the fact I don't really know what I'm gonna take yet.

I'm gonna watch high school musical 3 to see what to expect...

but in all seriousness, **** your American schools, so selective and demanding. I'm gonna take a back door and end up in the same place as Harvard grads.

PWND

lol, when i realized it would be our last class selection, i was telling all my friends & just got SO sentimental, hehe.

"Did anybody go anywhere interesting for spring break?"
on that note, can i also ask what kinds of things u all r doing over summer to get some ideas. cause as of now, i got nothing :
