Class of 2010. Yay.

My school has spring break starting Easter weekend, so mine still hasn't happened yet. :(

Although I've been told that scheduling is going to start this this week, which I've been waiting for. :)

I'm glad school is closing in on summer, but wow I've got so much to do. AP tests, ACT, Finals, SOLs...good lord...I actually need to start learning Chinese because we have an exam that is provided by the program and not our teacher...which means it may contain things we haven't learned in class. Which really sucks.

Good thing it's only 10% of the final grade. If I can manage a pass on it, I should still have an A.

-bangs head on wall-

Gotta schedule my W&M interview, start prepping for my ED application. So stressful...I'm just hoping for a smooth senior year. This year has been so draining, I think I've lost a few years of my life. ><

cAnIHAZsumPIE I asked also about the deaf part being true on page two of this thread, due to experincing something like that must have been awful.

where is everyone applying to?
Harvard, Stanford, Yale, Princeton, MIT, UCs, LACs, JHU, BU ?

thanks smile lol..yea i guess. i have to do it in college with roommates and all so yea

and yea coolbrezze i forgot u wrote that lol...yea it is awful but i guess i have to learn to live with it

I had to adjust to horrible vision. I had 20/20 vision in 7th grade. Now I'm a Junior and my vision is twice as bad as my mom's...Taking off my glasses right now, with my face only about a foot from the computer screen...I can barely make out the words...I just hope they stop getting worse...

Oh dear god, I did not like HSM3.

I know, when I found out from my counselor we were choosing classes after spring break and she was like "and it'll be your last! Isn't that exciting?" I just stared at her and looked horrified. ....in some ways, I'll really miss high school.

Summer....is too far away. My plan for it changes every week. Buuuut basically I'm gonna work (which is really fun haha and I get money), do some volunteering (which is also really fun, because I'll basically be playing/helping little kids), ummm SHOPPING. duh. getting a tan. hahah going to the beach. Hanging w/ some friends to relax before hectic senior year.

But as for preparing for college stuff--I'm gonna do another practice test for the SAT to see if I can improve my score, if I like absolutely fail, I'll just leave my SAT score the way it is. If I see some improvement (after taking AP English Lang or just ...getting smarter? haha) then I'll be preparing for the Oct SAT..
And starting July-ish, I plan to get a head start on my college apps. Like brainstorming, writing a draft of some of the essays. Because I really really want to make my essays as good as possible.

Ummmm yeah. Right, now, I just want to get AP exams over with. I don't even want to think about anything else...if I can just survive AP exams...

yes ! 2010 all the way (:
i can for sure share all the same excitement/nerves/indecisivness as everyone else .. senior year is going to be awesome but i just can't wait until all the applying is overwith and the college emails stop !

And MAN i wish I still had 20/20 vision. I hate glasses and even though I really like contacts, it would be nice just to have perfect eyesight. I hate when I fall asleep with my contacts on. My eyes are red for the rest of the day.

Yep, def YALE. I'm probably doing SCEA. Considering Princeton and Harvard. (Just gonna choose one of them) and I'll probably apply to UC Berkeley and UCLA? I'm still kinda going over my college list.

How many colleges do you guys plan to apply to? My parents said they didn't care how many I applied to. I'm thinking 15 max. But it'll probably be around 12. It might even be less if I eliminate some of my safeties--I have quite a few of those.

@Rixs--Where are you applying ED to?

I actually like getting college mail. They're fun to look at haha. But I hate getting college emails. Weird, I know...but it's just different.

Nice Smile, I want to get started on my essays too! W8 r they always the same every year, like for UC berk and stsanford, etc?

^ They might be? But I think they change it a little bit every year. Especially for UChicago--they always have weird topics.

But the CommonApp is up July 1st I think and most of the supplements are up by that time too. So that's when I'll probably start on things..

Last day of Spring Break for me. :(
Time went by wayyyy too fast!

Oh, and did anyone else get an email from WashU saying that their 2010 Pre-Application Data sheet thing is up already? Geez, they're getting an early start on all this college app stuff.

Lol, by now my WashU stuff goes straight to spam.

Last day of spring break for me too. It sucks. I have homework.

...the hell? my spring break isn't 'till april 4th. (totally the day of the ACT, which blows.)

Spring break starts the 9th here. I'm flying out to the Midwest for my first college visits (5 in 5 days? This should be good) and studying for AP tests and writing term papers and oh, yeah, celebrating my boyfriend's 18th birthday and getting ready for junior prom. It'll be intense but hopefully in a good, fulfilling way.

Speaking of all the WashU emails, I have no idea how I even got on their mailing list.

What are you guys looking at for safety schools? I need ideas.

I should've done more work over spring break. Now I'm frantically trying to write a research paper, another essay, and take notes over a whole chapter for history before 5pm because I made plans to have dinner with my friends and then a movie.

Yay for prom. Do you guys have a separate junior prom? We just have one prom for both juniors and seniors. I still need to get some shoes...and my dress should be here soon!

Our spring break started the day of the March SAT. haha good timing? some of my friends were furious they couldn't leave for their vacations early.

@teenage_cliche--what colleges are you visiting?

About WashU--yeah, I don't know how I got on it either. Probably from the PSAT scores?

Safety schools--the state university, and a few other southern universities, Missouri, Texas..etc that are fairly easy to get into. But mostly, just the state university because it's where a lot of my friends are gonna go and the business school is quite good so I think I'll be happy there if that's the only choice I have :) Like, I KNOW i'll get into the state university so that's my safety, I really don't need any more haha. Most of my other ones are gonna be reaches. Or somewhere b/w a reach and a match..

I was hoping that maybe UC Davis and Cal Poly SLO could be my safeties...but UCs and CSUs are getting more and more applicants and less funding, which makes me a little nervous...my counselor suggested USC as a safety...I suggested (in my head) that she might be slightly insane. I mean, I don't think USC is really a safety for anyone anymore, right?

I didn't even take the PSAT, and I definitely didn't sign up for the mailing list.

I live in Michigan so I wouldn't consider my state school a safety by any means, and I don't really want to stay in state. If I have to, I guess i'll find some other little state schools that are tolerable and hope that I get into colleges i'm really interested in.
