o yea just kidding i hate that about ut, i messed up freshman yr and now i have a huge upward trend and am in top6% and really good sat scores but to bad they wont cosider it for mccombs

you never know, at 6% with really good test scores, you might get in under the 25% that are considered holistically. if not, then just do well next year and transfer colleges within ut.

I am not sure if I was admitted through the rule. I am entering with the amount of credits as a junior in HS - I spent a year abroad in Chile at a poor school where I did not receive credit.

I assume so, we calculated my rank and I fell in the top 8% of my class, however, I did not have any AP courses so I am pretty sure that it will be better after semester.

So, I may have been/may not have been...who knows? Mccombs has only admitted the TOP applicants in my class. I just did not care because I am not interested in business...

Nick- do you live in Frisco Tx now? My s's girlfriend is moving there sometime at the beginning of the semester. Her father has taken a new job there. She will be attending Frisco hs. What's it like?

Yea! I go to Frisco High School. It's decently competitive but not hard to succeed if you are a hard worker. I would say that the only downfall is that it is a decently affluent area and that it is hard to keep up with everyone. I really had an okay job and Frisco High School is the best of the 4 here. The counselors do their job, the teaching is up to par, kids pass AP exams, the only problem is that it is only competitive for the top 10% people...other than that you don't learn anything here.

It's not really the small town that people claim it to be. It's growing! She's lucky to be coming here.

The only bummer for her is that she will be 1/2 way through her junior year in hs! She is a little worried about finding friends since everyone already has found their niche by that time. She is also extremely bummed about leaving her Houston hs and friends (especially my s). I just hope people will be friendly and open to her!

Hey I was just admitted to Biomedical Engineering, but I'm actually trying for Plan II Honors, so we'll see if I'll still be in Biomed next year!

I'm #4 in my class ;] (hah just had to join in)

Have you gotten into Plan II yet? I found out a few weeks ago and I'm psyched! And just to clarify, are you not planning on doing BME and Plan II? I'm going into McCombs (PPA) and am shooting for Liberal Arts Honors as well. Funny thing, actually, I was about two seconds away from applying to BME, but AP Calculus quickly changed that one around. hehe

nah I haven't gotten in yet. My teacher hasn't submitted the rec yet, so my app isn't complete.

I'm actually not sure if I want to do BME. If I don't make it into Plan II, I might just try and switch out to philosophy or something, but I figured it would be easier to switch out of BME than in. =)

Does anyone know if they admit you to the majors and following that to an honors program? I started honors programs apps but I haven't heard back if I've even gotten into the major, just that top 10% we can accept you ********.
