Newest Future Alumni: As the class of 2007 transitions into the ranks of F&M alumni, a brand new class arrives in the fall to replace them. Applications for a spot in the class of 2011 were more numerous than any year in the history of the College, totaling 5,016—a 24% increase over last year. Only 37 percent were admitted, as compared to 46 percent last year. The admitted class is 52 percent female. Half the class was admitted under the early decision program. The admissions office exceeded its target of 555 students, with a total to date of 585 students having sent in their deposits to secure a place in the class. SAT scores for the class averaged 1300. International students comprise 11 percent of the class, and multicultural students from the U.S. make up 14 percent of the class.
