Class of 2011 ED Roster/Thread

That's exactly the response I give my friends, heh. They don't like that :P

Anyways, yea I'm from Florida, Port St. Lucie to be exact!

Lol ya same here. Oh thats cool, I live in Tampa so thats not that far. If we both get in we should hang out sometime. Do you go to an IB school.

Yeah, I do go to an IB school (what fun it is, cough). We finished our Extended Essays like two weeks ago and that was such a relief. Working on Historical Investigations and TOK Papers now. This was probably the first weekend in a long time where I didn't have a ton of stuff due on Monday. The workload is finally calming down after 1 1/2 years of hell, hehe. I agree, it'd be cool to hang out if we both get in (I sure hope so!). Good luck to us Floridians, heh.

Oh and just wanted to give everyone a heads up that Stanford figured out that we beat them and they're not going down without a fight (at least according to their thread). There's still a few hundred posts back, but just something to watch out for! Hehe :)

i got into my safety school already- Rutgers RAH RAH. we dont have UNJ but it is the equivalent. it is kind of nice to know i have somewhere to go but it wasnt as reassuring as i hoped it would be.

What scares me is I applied to 5 ivy caliber, and then UF, not really a middle ground school. The only school for me middle ground would be Cornell, but thats an ivy so not really middle.

Yeah I think I'm doing 4 Ivies, UF, University of Chicago, and MIT. However, University of Chicago and MIT are still iffy for me -- I'm not so sure I want a school that has such a deficit in their social scene.

Ya, but actually MIT seems pretty cool. Im doing Princeton, Cornell, Penn, MIT, Duke, UF

Yeah if it comes down to it, I'm definitely gonna take another trip up there to get a better impression (MIT's tour guide did not really sell me on it).

The 4 Ivies are Princeton (duh), Columbia (I loved the campus), Harvard and Yale (both really good all around).

Ya. When I was there my tour guide was really cool. Also, the people I know and the things ive read about admissions at MIT show that the school is fairly fun and social. Maybe nerdy social, but still cool.

wow, have you guys already done those other apps?
does MIT take the common app?

MIT prides itself on not taking the commonapp.

No, but MIT has a very user friendly application, I really liked it. I have only completely finished and sent cornell. Although, MIT and Duke are almost done.

I haven't done any other apps, but my essay is very malleable and I can send it to most colleges. I just have to write the Why ____? essays now.

haha same here BD89!

but it's hard to write the Why ___ essays for the schools that isn't my ED school.... =/

Ya its like. I want to go to your school because...wait I dont want to go to your school I WANT PRINCETON!

Yeah. Most essays are pretty convertible, except Stanford. Which also has a 12/15 deadline. -_-

I'm surprised that the other schools/Ivies that most of you guys are applying to are so dis-similar from Princeton. MIT, Yale, Columbia and even University of Chicago are so urban. One of Princeton's main selling points for me was the sub-urban location. But then again, I really do equate the "perfect college campus" with a Liberal Arts college's environment.

I like Princeton's location.
Suburban.
But not rural-esque.
Unlike Dartmouth.
=P

I like Dartmouth!

huh? waat? Dartmouth's an ivy? wat tha? never even heard of it:)
