**Class of 2011 GWU RD Decisions**

Nothing in Ohio either

My son got into Columbian College of Arts & Sciences today. No honors, which he applied for, no mention of any schollarship $$. We are upstate NY. Don't have all his stats, but he had a 33 ACT, 92 uw average, varsity baseball & varsity cross country, NHS, 8 APs, Scouts thru 10th grade (star rank), p/t job after school, community service. Small school with small senior class (about 75) - school does not rank at all.

He had a good interview at GW, but I guess the competition for $$ was high. His writing scores probably held him back, although I thought his essays were good. I think the fact that his intended major was political science meant fierce competition for scholarship $$. He has an acquaintance who previously got a $20k engineering scholarship with a very similar academic record.

This just about rules out GWU for him. Luckily he got a $22k scholarship plus honors program from Tulane, and he likes the school, so that is looking more and more like the match.

Good luck to everybody who hasn't heard yet!

didnt get anything in nyc, but expecting a waitlist.

Nothing in VA today...

I got accepted in California today. I did not think I would get in, but I did. No financial aid info so I think that will come later.

how does it get to cali before ohio?

Clearly they weren't sent at the same time. They must be staggered.

GW has a lot of students to notify, so I assume they do it in a semi-random order (acceptances and waitlists first, but they pick whatever they have in the pile, rejections later).

I remember one person saying on there that they called and said letters were sent on Thursday. Well my guidance counselor called and they told her that the letters (or my letter) were sent out on Friday so they must have staggered depending on location if people in PA, VA, and OH haven't gotten them. I'm still confused as to why decisions aren't posted online. Oh well hopefully I find out soon before I go crazy!

[] Why you think you were accepted/wait-listed/denied: I think I fit a lot of what GW is looking for in their class with my political involvement, plus I had decent grades/scores. A little disappointed about not being accepted into honors, but only because I'm worried it's an ominous sign for some of the more competitive schools I applied to (top choice is Brown).
[] Attending? Possibly. It wasn't on the top of my list, but they sent a pretty impressive acceptance package... I'm going to have to look into it a little more.
