Class of 2011 Official Thread

Welcome Irishmom; your daughter has great stats. One of my dear friends went to Smith as an Ada Comstock Scholar and adored it; another good friend is also an alumna. If your daughter clicks there, she will love it.

And what's with Ireland nowadays? When I last visited (ages ago, in '88) there was 25% unemployment and more quaintness than a person could stand....friends who go now can't stop describing the boom! There are employment fairs here in NYC for people to get jobs and move there. Wow.

A friend found great camaraderie here last year, so I thought I'd share in the agony and ecstacy! Mailed the ED today and I am so nervous for my son. His essyas were hearfelt and well-written. I hate this!

SJTH,
Welcome to CC! I'm from Oregon too, small world. My D is a senior and like your son is applying to mostly eastern schools, only one west coast college on her list. Isn't it a relief to get that ED application out the door? Your son sounds like a great kid, good luck on the rest of the apps and keep us posted!

SJTH - What safety schools is your son applying to? Seems like UPS is the only one that looks safety-ish ... is that really enough?

Good luck!

He has U of O Honors College as a safety as well. He also just got his new ACT scores and they look great, so that was good news.

Thanks Entomom--it sounds like you're a veteran, while I'm on my first of three! The other two MIGHT stay a little closer to home.....
