Class of 2011 RD Decisions

I just got a big package today. They wanted to notify me early that I got in! I’ve never done stats or anything, so I don’t have anything to copy and paste. But I’ll try and put together something later.

I’m so excited! I’m really glad I got an offer of admission, I have a feeling I’m going to have to make some tough choices soon enough, I’m just glad I got something this early!

Congrats! I received my package today in the mail as well. The letter seems so personal because it mentions the activities I'm involved with, and etc. It's probably computer generated, but the feeling is such a good and fuzzy one!

I didn't think I would get into Bowdoin. This makes it so much harder to choose between the schools I applied to...

Did your packages come regular mail or FedEx and what was the postmark date?

hey me too!
i was kind of surprised, but it was cool to see how they noted my activities and stuff

it came in a usps priority mail thing

The postmark date for mine was March 9th. I live in New York City.

yeah, same here (im in maine)

congrats to those who got them already! i guess my rejection letter will come april 1st...oh well

Yeah the documents in mine were marked March 9th. I live in South Florida. I didn't get a terribly personalized letter - which would've been cool - but I'm still so happy! I definitely need to apply for more scholarships if I am to comfortably be able to attend though.

^^ oh yeah, merit scholarships are now the number 1. It's kind of hard to pass up a full ride to the state school, but who knows. Obviously, I'd rather get in than not.

busy next few months....

omg i got in too!!!! yay! from socal just so you know ;0

where are you from, Redenbacher's?

i wonder if all acceptances were sent out...my applicaiton wasn't even complete until the end of february because my school didn't send out my transcript...so is it likely they haven't even looked at my app yet? i need some sort of hope to keep me going the next 3 weeks.

EskimoGirl: I'm from NYC :)

ok guys calm down, these are just "early writes." it clearly states in the letter i got (which, btw, i am pretty excited about!) that only a small portion of acceptees were notified early... they are still deliberating about the rest of the applicant pool. so if you haven't gotten a letter yet, just keep your hopes up!

They also say the official notification date is March 23

is an official notification date the date we'll find out or the date the send them out? sometimes i wonder about colleges and dates...

They didn't say in the letter if that's the day you hear, or the day they send them out. I'm guessing it's the day they send them out

Yay! I just got my early write and i'm beyond relieved/excited!

Good luck to all those still waiting!

i live on long island and got my acceptance letter today!!!
postmark: march 9th
usps
congratz everyone!!!

I am getting a little peeved at all the colleges that seem to be sending out these "early writes" and likely letters, don't get me wrong, I think it is great for the people who get them but for the MAJORITY of the RDs who will not get them, it sends them in a panic. I really am not sure why the colleges do this, is it to get a "jump" on the really desirable students before they hear from other colleges? Will hearing from a school a couple of weeks early have that much of an impact on your decision?
Please try to RELAX if you do not get one of these letters, it does not mean you will be rejected..... breathe in..... breathe out.....
