Decision: Accepted!!!!!

Stats:

* Fee Waiver Used?: nein
* SAT I (by section): n/a
* SAT IIs: Bio E - 700 (frosh year)
* GPA, Weighted and Unweighted: I only know that I have an A- unweighted average.
* Rank: school does not rank
* ACT: 32
* APs (including this year's): 5 Euro (soph year), 5 APUSH/English Lang & 4 AB Calc (junior year), French Lang and English Lit this year
* IBs (including this year's: nein
* Senior Yr Courseload: hard-ish. I blow chunks at science and math so those are absent. But I've taken every history/English class possible in my school.
* Number of Apps from Your School: 2, I think, me included
* Other stats (Awards, etc.): Eh, some local awards, AP Honors, etc. Nothing special.

Subjective:

* ECs listed on app: Loads of theatre, loads of voice stuff, leadership positions in both but only school-wide.
* Job/Work Experience: Research for a professor at Princeton since the summer
* Essays (subject and responses): One was on Freudian dream analysis and how it pertained to my life in drama (funny). The "Bowdoin academic experience" one was about my intellectual ADD and how I hope Bowdoin will let it grow. People have told me they both kicked ass. I think they're what tipped me over into acceptance.
* Teacher Recs: Haven't seen them, but I assume pretty good. My professor whom I work for also wrote me a rec--he offered, so I assume that one's good as well.
* Counselor Rec: He read me this one--it was really good. My school is tiny, so our counselor knows us pretty well.
* Interview (feel, interviewer and general location): Didn't have one.
* Hook (TASP, RSI, Research, etc.): Noo idea. My focus on history? I want to be a history professor.

Location/Person:

* State or Country: Nouveau Jersey
* School Type, Average Stats of School (if available): School is TINY all-girls Sacred Heart. We're in an area with a LOT of competitive schools, but we hold our own.
* Ethnicity: White.
* Gender: Female
* Income Bracket: Honestly, it fluctuates (my parents have their own business), but it's in the higher ends.
* Hooks (URM, first generation college, etc.): I'm...interesting?
* Strengths: Essays, recs, POTENTIALLY ECs
* Weaknesses: Grades, scores, ECs aren't that interesting. I'm not the president of Mongolia in my spare time.
* Why you think you were accepted/deferred/denied: Nooooo idea.

Other Factors: nein
General Comments/Congratulations/Venting/Commiserations,etc: Good God, you could knock me over with a feather right about now. Bowdoin was the one place besides Yale that I'd pretty much resigned myself to not getting in. I am SO surprised...and happy. :)

Congrats everyone who got in. Are any of you going to the Open House(s)? And maybe I'll see you next year.

People who didn't get in: don't lose hope. This process is so freaking random that it's ridiculous. Some of the best people I know are having problems getting into college. So keep up the good work everyone.

Search your e-mail first. Then call admissions. If you get a large package, then you got in. If you get a small package in the mail not a good sign.
