i cant stand when people apply just to see if they can get in and then turn it down

Yeah, that's frustrating. I applied to all my schools BECAUSE I WANT TO GO THERE AND VALUE THE SCHOOLS.

Meanwhile, my friends just get in to all these places they have never researched. Frustrating? yes.

my rejection letter actually said about 20% got admitted, not 10%.

grr, def agree with pennhunter and ccb...

(in answer to penn's question... i also applied to USC, UCLA, SFSU, Boston University, and the ones i mentioned - yale/johns hopkins... oh, and obviously gtown too)

when can Cali residents expect letters..... really nervous. i got in ucla, cal, and ucsd so far and gotta check on other schools as well...

Probably Saturday. Congratulations on all your acceptances.

do u think Kansas residents will receive letters in the mail tomorrow

Thanks for the info, Sugarbelle.

I went to a summer program at Gtown for 3 weeks after my sophomore year. Do you think that would help? Oh god... what if i can't pay for georgetown? What if they realize i wrote my essays the night before???

All these things are rushing through my head.

Kansas? I have no idea. That domestican person got his already, right? I'd say probably. But then again GWU was weird and i still haven't gotten my acceptance from them even though i got my financial aid packet 2 days ago (hmm).

I <3 DC!!!!

Jesus, am I the only one who has gotten in? Am I gonna be all alone next year?

probably.

ok, no... they may have one or two other students.

but georgetown decided to up its "exclusive factor" and is literally only accepting five people this year.

congratulations, you won the lottery!

... lol, yes i'm kidding... i know you earned every bit of your acceptance :)

accepted! yippeeee

act - m/s/r/w - 36/36/32/32 essay 8
gpa 3.91 uw

my big essay was about me being agnostic, and going to an evangelical bible study each tuesday night for 3 months. diversity? hook? who knows dude.

edit - i'm in florida, and apparently the letters come tomoro (fri mar 30) i heard thru my dad's friend, alumni-chief-dude for the region.

wow... can't believe with those stats, people get denied..

what the hell are they looking for?

i think my post was misunderstood. i really do like georgetown, and i didn't apply just to see if i could get in. i had already sent in my pre-app and paid my application fee when i discovered my first choice school. and i also learned that Georgetown discourages you from taking an intensive language (like arabic) and another language at the same time. and you can't major in a language and international relations at the same time because they are in different schools. (this was from an admissions rep). so i wasn't being all over achievery.

and i still want to go to Georgetown for grad school.

wait luminographer, was that refering to my stats or...

Oh damn. I live in Seattle. Probably going to get it on Monday.
E_E

I haven't received ONE tangible acceptance letter (though I've been accepted into a few places). I've found out about my acceptances on-line only and I'm really anxious to get SOMETHING hold.

Hopefully Georgetown will be nice and give me one :).

aspariguy// no, sorry, i was referring to the ones on other pages

aspariguy,

what state do you live in?

Anyone hear from Georgetown today? I expected it to arrive in the mail today but it didn't come.

when are cali people getting it? anyone know?

That's weird, D.C and Maryland got it, yesterday. I am in Mass, so I doubt I'll get it today. Espically since my fordham rejection letter, hasn't come yet, and they sent htem out on Monday
