Class of 2011- Sound Off!

WOW! Happy DAY!! Anchors Aweigh!!! USNA here we come!!!!

Today, I received word from my GREAT Congressman in PA ...

I"M IN!!!

I'm more than excited, but as my BGO told me when I called to tell him ...

"Now enjoy every moment until June, because then someone else own's your A**!"

YAHOOOOOOOOO! :):):):) :):):):):):):):):):):):)

P.S. Thanks to ALL here who are so very helpful and supportive. I couldn't have made it without you all! THANK YOU!

And let's hear from others who will be sweating with me come June, 2007.

BZ!!! Congratulations!!!

:) :)

dritchey - WAHOOOOO! Congrats. You're gonna look awesome in white!! GO NAVY!!

congrats man, I recently heard of my nomination a couple days ago and it feels SO great to know where I'm going to school. Not to burst your bubble, but you still have yet to be appointed correct? I believe last year about 1800 kids were triple Q'd with a nomination, but only 1500 were offered an appt. Good luck!

-David

dritchey- Congrats! Job well done!

"What we have here is a failure to communicate."

I had received word of my nomination a few weeks ago but today I got a letter from my nominator saying that he has been informed of my appointment to the class of 2011.

Hope they teach humility at USNA.

That is correct though Dash-9, once you're triple qualified and recieve a nomination you're competing in a pool of about 1,800 and as you said about 1,500 receive an appointment. Good luck to you!

dritchey....there were 2 ecstatic parents talking on the phone last night...one very happy dad in Huntingdon, PA who had just come from celebrating YOUR news of your Appointment....and one very happy mom on her way to the airport to pick up her Plebe who hasn't been home in 6 months! (and as I type she is safely, happily, sleepily home, yipee!!!)Now we can consider ourselves part of the USNA family together! Much Congrats on this great news - Welcome Aboard!!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS
GO NAVY
BEAT ARMY

thank you peskemom.

i recieved a letter of assurance from USNA but decided i didn't want to go because i dislike having people boss me around, but i must say after recently seeing the movie 'Annapolis' it lookes cool

Are you pulling our collective leg?

So where are you headed?

As long as you dont base your decision off Annapolis, quite possibly the most inaccurate movie made in the last few years, its yours to make.

Haha... Annapolis.

I was like "Oh cool, a movie about life at the Academy." Man, was I wrong.

seriously, a shipyard..in annapolis..now? as a local it was half bad and half comical at some points

Congrats Dritchey and Whistle Pig! Hopefully many more will post here soon.

Thanks very much Cougar. Indeed.

Here's to mucho good news after tomorrow's Admissions meeting!

I suppose Admissions meetings are held at regular intervals throughout the admissions season? How do you know when they occur? I had heard (or read somewhere) that it is all virtual/on-line and not in a 'board room'.

Every Thursday. Note how your Academy news comes. Ours is always Monday.

I guess we have been too excited to take note of the day - hard to pick up on a pattern!!
