usservicemom,

lol now I have. is there anything there in particular i should be looking at? I just looked at the cadet insignias and ranks page- I was always wondering what all those stripes meant.

spectrez589-

In case you didn't see this on the USNA forum,

Wishing you a all the best, as you join the Long Gray Line, spectrez589! WP is an illustrious institution with a rich history of producing great leaders. Congratulations, you've earned it, now go make CA proud! ;)

CelticClan07,

Thanks! Will do.

Is anybody playing football this upcoming year...

^ yeah I was wondering that too along with can someone who has no football experience (except for recreational football with friends) try out for the team (as a walk-on) or is the football team all recruited athletes?

I think you can walk on to any sport, I'm thinking about baseball.

well i am a recruited football player... this summer is going to kill me cause i am 6'5" and weigh about 310... i have a pretty decent build and i am in decent shape but i cant do what you little people can do... West Point makes exceptions to us offensive linemen... Kinda worried about sticking out you know... The whole beast will not be that bad as long as you have buddies

Yeah I am a recruited football player so... I do know that every cadet has to participate in a sport, either at the competitive level or at the recreational level... This summer is going to be rough for me, I am a 6'5" 310 offensive lineman ha ha... I have been doing a pretty strenous running routine though so I hope I am in decent shape... I think the Academy has special considerations for us large football individuals...

wow sorry about that double post... my computer had said it did not go through... thats weird

lol, me coming from a non football background (4 years swimming, 3 years water polo, 1 year cross country) would a 5'7 150 pound individual make the cut on a collegiate football team? I was thinking of doing something that seems easy, maybe punter. I dunno- what do you football players think? Am I sorry, out of luck?

... This site is showing that I have not posted... If anyone else sees my post on their computer could you let me know... Thanks

Well actually spectre, West Point is home to one of the nations only sprint football team which is a team comprised of people less than 180 lbs. That is the offensive line weights no more than 180 lbs... That could be a option for you.. The team plays navy, cornell and most of the ivy schools I think... Could be very fun

My computer will only let me see recent post if I post... really weird

hmm that sprint football thing sounds really fun. I'll definitely try out for that.

yeah when I was up there for my official visit. The football website is http://www.goarmysports.com/SportSelect.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=11100&KEY=&SPID=4577&SPSID=48033 It is very competitive I hope it works out for you
