Thanks for your replies. I will try to answer all of your questions/concerns/comments, because I am quite knowledgable in this field.

Unfortunately I was unable to reply earlier because of troubles with my internet connection, as such I do not appreciate your snide remarks.

neutralnuke:
I have just cleared out my PM inbox, I expect you to apologise promptly for your offensive comments. Remember this is a public forum and I am able to view what you write about me! Therefore you should apologise to me for your "petty attitude" (to quote you).

LuvAngel:
With your name, one would actually expect you to be more positive and kind. Obviously your name is deceiving, as the comments you have made have not been the case in the slightest. So stop being so "selfish and greedy" (to quote you) and find another user to harass.

Clearly, as this is your FIRST and ONLY post you are obviously a troll, so I do not value your feedback.

suetonius:
This is a thread for students entering college for the FIRST time, not graduate school. Maybe I did not make this clear in my post, but I would have hoped you would have reviewed previous posts and used your best judgement to establish this.

However, I forgive you. Best of luck for your graduate school endeavours! (See LuvAngel, I am kind). Hopefully they recognise the University of Tasmania as a real educational institution.

issacnewton:
I can not comprehend your post so I will not reply. Do you have a dictionary available? Or at least spell-check installed on your computer?

neutralnuke:
Oh, please! Apart from the fact that I am MALE I do not appreciate the fact that you have been stalking my past posts.

Sorry about not replying earlier :-S .

I can understand your reply being late, but only because my internet connection has been unreliable for the past few days. Maybe you were in the same situation. In future, however, this excuse will not be acceptable.

Anyways thanks for the "advice" you've given me about replying to colleges.
Is there a reason why you put the word advice in ""? You're more than welcome for receiving my advice, but you might want to show your appreciation genuinely.

You should know that even if you can dissuade me from applying to HYP and MIT, your own chances there wouldn't be any different. I mean, I'm only one applicant, and there's always a possibility that we might both get in or both be rejected.
What do you think of me? Do not doubt my intelligence. I know this already, and I know that I am a superior applicant than you. I simply started this thread to ensure I was correct in thinking this. You have reaffirmed my view on this. Of course I want you accepted to a college as well, and if we are both accepted then that is excellent, but I especially hope that I am accepted.

Also, even if I don't apply to these above schools, many people from my own school are applying there (obviously not to the same ones, but many of us are applying to America).
I think I know which school you attend... I've narrowed it down to 2: Is it a single-gender school? How many students are applying to the States? Which colleges are they applying to?
As for the colleges I am going to apply to: 12 is indeed excessive, and I will prune that list down to 8 or 9. Lol I might not apply to Yale, but Harvard/Princeton/MIT I'm definitely going to try (besides others of course).
Good choice, don't apply to Yale. I don't think you would be accepted anyway. MIT is a possibility for you, and Harvard/Princeton are definately far reaches.

SAT 1 : 2190
Let's just hope that you did not study for this, and received 2190 on your first attempt. If this is the case, this score is acceptable. Otherwise I wouldn't count on you being admitted.

SAt 2: 2290 (3 tests combined) - Math 1, Math 2, Physics.
Please direct me to a web page from ETS or the College Board which says that 3 tests can be combined. I have not heard of such a policy before, so do not make misleading comments. That's only like 760 on each test, when most people in the States receive 800 for each subject test. Granted, not being from an American school system may give you an exception. But you did math 1 and math 2? I know that most colleges won't like this, as it is the same subject area. Obviously if you can do math 2 you can get a 800 on math 1. Physics is difficult, so good job on this subject test (see LuvAngel, I am YET AGAIN kind and reassuring).

I'm a male yeah, and I'm doing the IB diploma (hehe you might guess my school from that, although I don't want to say it explicitly here on CC). I'm a composer/lyricist/sound engineer/singer/rapper lol - I think this can be considered a "hook"? Or if not, it shoudl boost my application anyways.
I have a fairly good idea which school you are from. I've narrowed it down to 2, but if its a single-gender school I know which one it is. I can understand and appreciate why you don't want to mention your school, I'm the same.

Yes that can be considered a hook. What subjects are you completing for the IB? I assume Math and Physics are higher level? Since this would be commonly associated with being a nerd/geek/etc. I think that having a strong interest in music (particularly rap) would be good for your application; as much as it pains me to say.

GPA I'm not sure if it matters, since it's done very differently to American schools. And yeah I'm gonna try for class of 2008 (that is, start in 2009).
They may consider your IB score instead of GPA. As the school I attend follows the American GPA system, I have to declare this instead of my IB results (or my predicted IB results). What are you predicted for the IB?

You've completely confused me with when you're attending college. What grade are you at the moment? How old are you? I think we're in a different situation - I am 15, entering college in the fall of 2008 (but you're entering 2009? So you're college class of 2013, high school class of 2009?)
Well good luck for your college search/application process.
Same to you. Hopefully I am admitted however, just don't get your hopes up.
Why don't you post your "stats" up too, so we can talk about issues regarding Australian students?
Eventually I will post them, I don't feel like typing them now.
