Class of 2012--Anyone Heard Anything Yet?

No -- there is no indication of a decision at all.

It's just a line item under the "Admissions Documents Received" section. The same place where all the transcripts, ACT Scores, letters of recommendation etc are listed by date. It doesn't have anything on there that would indicate that a decision's been made.

tiffw--Nothing is on S file yet. He auditioned Chicago unifieds.

It says the same thing "Folder pulled committee read" for mine too.
I also had a close call a couple weeks ago when admissions emailed me to say "we know you auditioned for the school of drama, but you haven't actually applied yet, so send your application in" even though I had sent it in October!! Luckily, they just had a mix up but I was getting really nervous...I didn't want to do the whole process all over again!

I checked online today and it said the same, "folder pulled for committee read" my D was at L.A. unifieds

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaa....I so can't take this anymore. Like I'm trying to take my own advice lol. and not think about anything but when people constantly tell me things like, "oh well my friend got accepted yesterday" and "letters went out yesterday" it gets kinda hard. Especially when I KNOW for a fact that those statements aren't true. I just want SOMETHING! AHHHHH

Today a close friend of mine told me that Barbara had called him late last night to tell him he had been accepted. She said they had accepted 16 (9 boys and 7 girls) actors and 9 musical theatre students (I don't know what gender). This seems really odd that he would hear so soon, but I don't know!

DearMartha -- Was that young man acccepted for Acting or MT? Someone on another thread mentioned that they typically call the students for Acting first...

So...my really good friend was accepted yesterday for straight acting! ahhhh...so hopefully they are calling the actors first.

Sooooo, "this" young man everyone is hearing about (totally unsure if it is the same young man :)), is also still in the running for Juilliard next weekend. It is entirely possible that the early phone call may have had something to do what all that....

There is also a mom who has posted on the MT forum that her D was accepted for acting.

Maybe the folder pulled for review is a good sign..my son's does not say that and he did not get called last night and he is acting so I would presume that means he did not get in to CMU and maybe that is why no review of his file? All guessing, but makes sense.

I don't think they call everyone on the same day, I was looking at posts from last year and people got calls on different days within the same week...so you never really know...

Thanks for that information...I guess it is not over until you get the official letter. We shall see:)

No, the young man I'm talking about is not being considered fro Juilliard and he got in for straight acting.

But my D knows a boy (acting not MT) who got a call from Barbara last night and he is going back to Juilliard this weekend. He was also at Minnesota callbacks and also got into USC! My D was not at home last night when Barbara called, but I will post whatever I learn after she speaks to her.

What time of day do the people from colleges (CMU for example!) call for acceptances? Just curious because several of the schools I'm waiting for call people, and someone said a kid was called LATE last night. Is that normal?

My D got a call at 8 pm PST on a Sunday (from the East Coast = +3 hrs). Imagine our surprise...

dear martha... did barbara tell your source the break down of boys vs. girls of the 9 musical theatre acceptances. sounds like 6 boys and 3 girls based on what we are seeing on this thread.

The "pulled file" note on the website is interesting. Did they pull the files on just the acting applicants or the MTers too? And for those accepted does everyone have that pulled file notation?

MTgrlsmom- Did your D get a call telling her she was accepted for MT or acting?
