Class of 2012 application

Hi, is it me or is the application still not up? I can't seem to find the link on how to apply online nor does the paper app pertain to the class of 2012 (seniors 2008) since it's for admission to fall quarter/semester 2007... anybody know when the app will be up?

it's up.......................from what i heard

I cant find it either. it says on the website that it'll be available Oct. 1, that is late. and then it's due nov 30?? does anyone know their essay prompts?

It isn't up. It doesn't come up till October, and the filing period is November 1-30.

The essay prompts are on the UC site. Do some searching and you'll find them.

yea, that's what i heard...essay prompts....and kyle, you ready for Berkeley?

"Ready for Berkeley"?

lol, IDK if i remember correctly, and i usually don't, you're going to be a senior next year, and i know for sure, you're obsessed with Berkeley, and i have faith you will be accepted their so i'm guessing you'll go, so yea, i was saying are you ready for next year? Ami right or waaay off?

I wouldn't say "obsessed."

... well, okay, maybe I would. =p

And yes, I'm ready. Been waiting only too long. =]

good luck! hopefully we'll see you here soon. :)

the essays are already up
also, does the filing period mean....what does it mean? thanks :)

I believe it's the actual period in which you can submit the application (and be done with it all).

I found this on the uni of california website. but I don't know if the berkeley campus requires another essay of their own. Do these prompts look right?

Instructions and Prompts for Fall 2008
Respond to both prompts, using a maximum of 1,000 words total.
You may allocate the word count as you wish. If you choose to respond to one prompt at greater length, we suggest your shorter answer be no less than 250 words.
Stay within the word limit as closely as you can. A little over—1,012 words, for example—is fine.
Prompt #1 (freshman applicants)
Describe the world you come from – for example, your family, community or school – and tell us how your world has shaped your dreams and aspirations.

Prompt #1 (transfer applicants)
What is your intended major? Discuss how your interest in the subject developed and describe any experience you have had in the field – such as volunteer work, internships and employment, participation in student organizations and activities – and what you have gained from your involvement.

Prompt #2 (all applicants)
Tell us about a personal quality, talent, accomplishment, contribution or experience that is important to you. What about this quality or accomplishment makes you proud and how does it relate to the person you are?

That's it. It's the same for all UCs. Berkeley does not require any other essay.

right. remember, the whole application itself is for the uc system, not specifically berkeley. you select which uc campuses you want to send it to.
