Big white envelope for an acceptance. Inside is a white folder with your letter and a few other pieces of information.

does a rejection look any different?

rejection/deferral comes in regular sized envelope, from what i gather.

okay… im in los angeles and im freaking out with anxiety

2-3 more days…why couldn’t they just do email lol

yea it would save them a lot of money in postage…and us a lot of stress haha

Wow it’s great that people are already finding out. I’m excited to know if I got accepted, but living on the west coast as well as being out of town, I’m gonna have to wait just a little bit longer.

Scottj: you are such a doll and your positive words are priceless and much appreciated.

If you get accepted and you filled out the CSS Profile before november 1, does the letter come with the CSS Profile financial aid estimate?

guys i know this might be kind of embarrassing to ask but do the honors invitations always come with acceptance letter? do they sometimes come later? i am really hoping i got in/will get in. i have a 2140 SAT, 2 SATII of 730+, Top 3% of class. I know I am super close to the cutoff for the program. thanks!

Dear soontobesenior : Financial aid estimates do not come with your admission package. When Boston College says it is need-blind, they are serious. About two to three weeks back after the initial readings were first completed, the wheels were put in motion for the acceptances and second (and third) reviews were held for those on the fence between acceptance and deferral. Only at that time did the financial aid department even start to get any indication of the overall financial aid profiles to start fitting into their budget for next year. Further, your latest tax returns will be required for final financial aid statements.

Dear 12lyncje : Yes, honors invitations do come with the acceptance letter. If you are not invited into the program and have a compelling reason - and I do mean compelling reason - as to why you should be in the program, contact me over private messaging and we can offer some very specific thoughts. At a 2140, your scores are not a slam-dunk for the honors program. Remember the two-way score is generally called out at a 1450 baseline - hence, a 2140 would be slightly shy of the mark. Did you have some substantial AP/IB successes or thesis work that were part of your application? The Honors Program is about demonstrating that you can handle course work with small seminars at a very rigorous level. [Remember, there is no sliding in these small sections!]

Dear lizbette : Rejections and deferrals do indeed come in the small (business-class) envelope. If you are deferred, you will have the opportunity in the next several months to augment your admissions case with any substantially new (not more-of-the-same) that indicates a strong passion or match for Boston College. Good luck!

I kind of hope I don’t get in now so I don’t take a spot away from someone else. Best of luck to everyone.

If your agora portal dosen’t change at all then does that mean you aren’t in, because I read that on another thread

They stopped doing the whole ‘tab’ thing this year. So to answer your question, no.

no, they fixed that this year. no one’s (not even the kids that have received their acceptance letters already) portal has changed yet

Very nice sentiment, but you will not be taking anyone’s ‘spot’. If you are accepted, either EA or RD, you can just decline if you find a college that is a better fit for you. BC has already factored in such student rejections into its acceptance formula (yield). Further, BC maintains a WL to fill the last few ‘spots’.

Any internationals? How long does it usually take for intl students to receive them?

Do they send rejections after acceptances?

^they have already sent ALL decisions. They sent everything at once in the mail on Friday, the only reason some people have already heard is based on where you live. The only people to hear so far heard on Saturday and live very close to Boston.

When do you all think the West Coast will receive our letters?
