tufty and kathmandude

which highschool are you both from??? PM me

krb best of luck for ur jacobs decision

If we are to be misled by the Lowenbrau advertise, then German chiks seem to be solid.

Lets see how many Nepalese got into Jacobs this year…

first rnd :

sxc: 2 (me, pallav)
BNKS:RBS others??

rnd 2 :

sxc: 3 (maniraj, draj, asish)
BNKS:RBS others ??)

@ whoever who wants to go to KU.
Whatever i say here is my personal judgement after i spent 2 years over there? You must conduct your research.

Engineering: Used to be good , but worst now a days. pass outs teaching, not competitive, anyone who comes from studying environment will be affected much because there is no studying environment at undergrad in KU. it seriously affects you.
very few of my friends from kathmandu , i guess none are studying in KU at engineering, only the locals from dhulikhel and banepa are studying. instead they are studying at KEC or something like that.

pharmacy: good, competitive. good faculty and labs, but is only kind of program in nepal, so how can we say whether or not it is good when there are no products in nepal to compare it with. now that many other colleges are launching BPharm from purbanchal or pokhara university, we can compare.

biotechnology: don’t even think about it, a teacher leaked 40 objectives, 20 came in final sem exams, there are tons more about it

management: people say it is good, honestly, i don’t know, i am from science stream, i can’t comment.

KU sparkles from far , but everthing that glitters is not gold. you can choose tons of good colleges from india or try to go to IOM.

Finally, we can make best out of worst, so can you, from KU. But think again, those who have never gone to KU , i wish, i wish, they never go to study in KU.
Go and ask to students who are studying there, be careful 90% of them are losers and they will tell you that it is the best place where you can go.

And KU is not an Ivy, don’t use such expressions friend. Stephen Hawkings is a genius in physics but he is not the next Einstein, such comparisons are baseless.

I believe people in this forum are from BNKS, RBS and SXC , my final thought is that KU is not the right place, but again, you can make best out of the worst.

sunil

hey sunil
are u the sunil of SXC sec g?

@manasm and isnwta I am not from malpi, st. xavier’s and bnk.

this post by senior at JUB scares me.here is his experience from one year of JUB staying.

**let me make one thing clear
why u guys are so interested to come to jacobs??
u will have at least 20000 euro as principal and compound interest so it will be like u will have a debt of around 25000 after graduating from here
don think that u shouldn’t pay the loan they will make u pay the loan

about course load i don think i shud explain it to u guys
SES students will have around 36 credits per sem which is like double credits than US college per sem
the transdisciplinary approach will kill u as u have to take courses from other schools and university courses
so i have already said u and still saying that think twice before coming here
have other options as well guys
its too difficult to get good grades here i m not kidding and u can’t compete with bulgarians and romanians
so better go to LACs guys u will realize this fact when u come here so i think prevention is better than cure

PS: Don ever think that we don’t study hard and say like this it’s a true fact and take it seriously guys

i hope still u have time and think about ur future before heading to JACOBS lol
**

is there any thread that reads as college placement 2008 from nepal.eager to know how many from nepal excluding consultancies.

Hey,
Lets see how many students from each institution got good college placements this year
From Malpi
Colby,
Trinity,
Lawrence university
JUB
Therefore, four good college placements so far? Hope the list will increase as days go by.
How about the figure from SXC, BNKS, Gandaki School and other high schools?

lau Lawrence University’s decisions are out??? I haven’t heard anything from there. Zangokar can you confirm How they sent the decisions???

Bennington forgot me or what yaar..I know I am rejected and I have already enrolled at another college..Tei ni atleast they should send you a rejection letter …Ani 1 day to go for CA polls…Vote Vote Vote…

@draj , @ tufty and those who applied to JUB
congratulations for your acceptances guys!
I applied to JUB in the first round so here’s some info.
don’t worry.. the scholarship letter should come this friday or even next week through e-mail. They will only tell you how much money you got as a scholarship ,but the rest of the fin aid ( granr/loan) will come later, say in two weeks. both the scholarship and the admission decision will arrive through regular post, but since you guys live in nepal… hmm probably next week if they move a little slower. anyway, they will still e-mail you before ;).
the rest of the documents - forms to enroll and visa information- will arrive with the remaining financial aid.
hope this helps!

@jasonshah
i got an e-mail from pomona last thursday and the admission package arrive on friday. don’t know what happened though…many other intl students haven’t received anything yet from them, but i don’t think this necessarily means rejection. :-s. anyway, any news yet from pomona ?

Dear Manas,
A student from my high school, Anish, who is currently in A2(grade 12) informed us a few days back that he was accepted by Lawrence university.
He says, he has to pay 14000 dollars per annum in addition to a loan of 4000 dollars.
I hope that you will also get your acceptance from Lawerence soon.

Hey guys,
Can anybody tell me how U.W.C. graduates are compared to us? Is IB more rigorous and demanding than A-LEvels? I was surprised to find that almost all international students accepted by Colby are from U.W.C. Can we compete with them?

@BNKS12
I do know a person whose brother graduated from Whitman. He works in Aviation Academy. His brother is actually a BNKS alumni, from 000 C batch.

@draj , not yaar i am not from SXC

@to all members , anyone paying in full or partial to study in the US, just wished to join the club of full payers

oh guys, happy voting day, i am confused whom to vote, A-maley or congress

@toxic
