Does luther give financial aid even to transfers?
Weren’t you supposed to pay around 9k last year?
If someone has a higher SAT scores than yours, then does it increase the amonunt of financial aid?
Though I have applied to tons of safeties this year, I am stil intrested in Luther.

i had to pay 2k for tuition and 4k for room and board…if i live off campus then it’ll practically cost me nth.
i guess they will give you a higher fin aid if u have better sat scores…

ok,college app is a single race…but, one with the best car- “stats” and skills-“essays” will win,
but darasta i am not clear with “15 laps”,is that applicants’ number?

The best car and the best skills don’t necessarily win you a race.
If things were to happen in reality as they seemed on the paper
Brazil would win every FOOTBALL WORLD CUP,
but thats not at all the case.
I bet you have a great chance if you have truly showed them Why you love them. You must show your dedication
IMPOSSIBLE IS NOTHING
Aim the stars, even if you fall you’d still be in the Sky!

Nice Philosophy Kushal. I like it.

Joshi do you know Apu from Simpson studied at CalTech… It’s Calcutta Institute of Technology :p. :lol:lol:lol:

Manasm, great joke. Keep us laughing in the future too esp when colls r trying for otherwise.

Have you applied to female-only colleges like Wesleyan College, GA?
Lasy year, a girl from SXC got a very good aid in that college.
And, regarding your ED-II to colgate, I guess Colgate gives much weight to SAT reasoning scores. So, if you have less scores then practically you have very low chance of getting in.
But, its the one of those few left with no nepalese accepted till date this yera , right.
anyways, I wrote what I thought. Do whatever you think is right

chii colgate…my once dream college…
SAT scores very very very -extremely- important.atleast 1450+ or absolutely no hope unless you write an absolutely scorcher of an essay…

heard wesleyan,GA’s good…for all the women-try mount holyoke, smith, wellesley etc. last year ppl from sxc got into those women colleges. you have a good shot at those colleges.and regarding wesleyan, i heard ppl are enjoying themselves there.lots of nepalese girls…

well nepal69,i donot know, but sometime earlier when i visited colgate’s website i read that colgate was last (to that date) among the colleges not to value the standardised tests as the part of their admissions decision,
i donot know its practicability, however this was published there on the web..

@ everyone..
I would like to congratulate Bocca and another friend of mine for getting stellar ACT scores (The highest from NEpal till date?? ) 34/36. Well done guys.. you rock..

CONGRATS BOCCA and the other guy (confidential)!
YOU BOTH ROCK!!! You make Gaurishankar proud!

(is the ACT a simple test? Just asking)

Thank you for your concern neplai69 and trans_int007
I have aplied to women’s coleges, and I wil be REALLY VERY HAPPY to get into one.
and about colgate:
I have been hearing that Colgate looks into SAT scores very much. But I just could not stop myself: for 2 reasons:
I was very impressed by its supplement question.-1
I think all other collegges in my list had already taken at least 1 student in ED.-2

and congrats to bocca and the other guy as well.

STATS OF THE OTHER GUY:
ACT- 34
class rank - good (top decile)
recommendations- good
essays - great (i read them, they are phenomenal)
grades - no details now, but they are good
is applying to a wide range of colleges… but not Hamilton, so relax guys

to add to what sabu posted…you should see him play the guitar…he is not associated to any band rite now but when he plays it…his only two addictions in life are guitar and astronomy.

when he plays it seems like his fingers are sparks of a flame of never ending emotions

and your heart seems to bleed with the caress of the melodies he produces… the OTHER GUY rocks
