Wow, so if s/he applied to Y and got in...and has no intention of choosing D over Y, why did s/he ever bother to apply in the regular round?

That doesn't mean much in terms of Dartmouth.

On the other hand, she has a right to know where she got in. She went to all the trouble of applying, same as everyone else.

hey sybbie... are people who got LLs considered "auto admits"? or anyone else who knows...

Yup the likely letter is simply telling you that you're in before they can officially announce it.

i actually sent in all my recs and transcript a lot earlier, as well as the dartmouth supplement (late november-ish)...i submitted my main common app part in mid december (it took me a while to get my butt in gear and finally press submit)

Haha... speaking of pressing submit.... I was super nervous. In fact, my friend was ecstatic when I told her I finally did it... haha. =)

HAHA for me everything had been done for a few days, i had my friend on the phone talking me through it

lol for me it was the total opposite - i pressed submit before i had even double checked everything! I was so excited about applying to college that i couldn't wait to press that button! I sure do regret that now though.....

guess what the title to my amherst essay is? "Amherst Supplementary Essay"

Lol how original.

Is the wave of letters officially done now? Anyone know for sure?

no i think there should be another one this week - i don't have any factual information except for the fact that everyone keeps saying there are 3 waves, the last one beginning during the first week of april.

Then again, they could be done - who know.

The last one will not be during the first week of april! We will know our actual decisions on April 1st! The last wave will be somewhere between March 10 and 15th

^He probably meant March

i'm really not sure if there are the actual "waves" at all. i just received mine today, and it was dated 2/29, so the rest of you who didnt get LLs yet DEFINITELY still have plenty of time to get them... and even if not, yall definitely still have a shot at dartmouth

Where are you located cecesunshine? I'm in Illinois and am hoping I might receive one soon.

There ya go---every Friday this year. Letters have been dated 2/8, 2/15, 2/22, and now 2/29 . That will be it, I would bet...same as always except they did weekly, not biweekly.

yeah, I meant March :S

im in the south, as in la, not tx or va, so im in the DEEP south by any definition

i got one today.. in FL

dated when?
