I got a likely... and I am sooo surprised because of my stats.

i don't think my stats were really important... i had a story to tell and i really do think they look at the whole person... i'm sorry if thats corny but i'm proof that they don't just want 2400s and 4.0's

wow, that's really interesting. Congrats you guys!

omg I got a likely letter im about to **** sunshine im so happy omg

LISA22 and LukasLunacy, where are you located?

so is it the common assumption that a new batch of LLs were sent on the 10th?...that doesn't fit the "Friday trend"

Miami, FL =)

I got one today too! Dated March 7.

I got one too! Dated March 7. I live in the Silicon Valley, CA.

The Friday trend prevails!
Note this batch is dated Fri., March 7 and POSTMARKED the following Monday the 10th(as in dropped at the P.O. late Fri.)
They've gotta be done now tho---who thinks this is going to go on 2 more Fridays???

Oh my god :/ I feel really nervous now because I didn't recieve one. sigh April 1 right?

well i think they will send atleast one more firday batch out....this friday most likely. so i think i have one more chance to get mine...:S

i live in New england.. people who didn't get a likely letter DON
't FREAK OUT!! it seems like alot of people are getting likely letters but in reality the majority of people who didn't get likely letters aren't posting in forums.

got a likely letter. probably dartmouth class of 2012!! I'm gonna study and party at the coolest place on the planet!

WOO ROBOCOP! can't wait to meet you at dimensions then!

If Dartmouth sends out 500 likely letters and they accept like 2000, then 1/4 of the admitted class got likely letters. Isn't this contrary to the belief that the MOST students don't get likely letters from Dartmouth?? I mean c'mon, 25% is a significant amount... Unlike Stanford or Yale, which send like 100, Darthmouth, I would say, sends out a significant batch. 25%?? Is this something not to be worried about??

It means the majority of students accepted to Dartmouth did not receive a likely letter (75%>25%) meaning that for every student who received a likely, 3 other lucky candidates will also be offered admission.

I know that. I'm just saying that 25% is a significant number.. much greater than what a lot of the other posts make it out to be. Many people use the word, "MAJORITY" and "RARE" as facades to give off the impression that VERY VERY VERY FEW get the letters. What I'm saying is that the numbers are much greater than what people are assuming. Of course, you can argue that 75% is still a majority, but you cannot just ignore 25% as an insignificant number. My argument is NOT that the MAJORITY don't receive the letters; all I'm saying is that there are a significant number of candidates who have received likely letters (25%). Hope that clarifies things.

Don't stress over getting or not getting a likely letter.

what about internationals? anyone from East Asia receive one?
