Class of 2012 Likely Letters

WOW - this would be the best V-Day gift ever.

eaglet - first wave LL on 2/14, is this simply a guess, or could today be the day for round one?

---no, just a guess!

anyone get one? I heard likely letters aren't usually sent out until the last week of february/first week of march (this is for other schools, not dartmouth specifically).

....I want one.

...well so much for a Valentine surprise!!!

3 years ago the first wave of likely letters was mailed out on Feb 11th. There are so many more applications to get through that I would expect it would take longer this year.

just got one

my son just got one today too. letter dated Feb. 8.

Cool. Congratulations!

Congratulations!

Ahhhhh it would be so incredible to get one but I never will :(

so funny story.... I was reading this thread and thought- "I should go check the mail, who knows maybe for some reason they sent me a LL" well I went to go get it and low and behold there is a letter from Dartmouth... I start freaking out, run inside, rip it open only to read, "Here is your username and password"

I think it's strange that the two people who claim to thave gotten likely letters each have only one post to their names---can you say "troll?" Don't get worried, people, if you get one don't be upset.

I got one just now

just out of curiousity, what exactly do they say? What is the reasoning behind likely letters (aside from those for athletes) ... from the COLLEGE's Perspective?

For those of you who got it. Are you on the east coast?

I live in Rhode Island and today I received a likely letter! The date was February 8th. I have been stalking these boards for a while now and have been getting extremely anxious. This letter has definitely relieved some stress. Best of luck to everyone else! GO BIG GREEN!

I am not an athlete. They said they liked my academic accomplishments and intellectual potential.

^^ Thanks. Congratulations! West Coast probably won't see it today.

my dd received her likely letter today. Very nice way to start the february break.

Congrats! Do you think they would mail likely letters to international applicants or e-mail them?

Ugh. Now I wish I had a mailbox on the East Coast. Next week will feel like such a long time to find out.
I don't know if they email or only mail to internationals. I know that Columbia emailed everyone on the same day and then sent out letters that came a week or so after.
