Congratulations to all of the recent acceptances! This is so exciting! My S applied to five schools, four of which are rolling admissions. He has had two acceptances so far and we're waiting on pins and needles for the rest. The 5th one doesn't make decisions until late Feb or early March, which seems like a long ways away right now, but I'm sure the time will fly by.

U of Arizona--- Full Ride! I really really really don't want to go there (for me, it would be high school part 2) but it's still nice knowing I'm in somewhere :)

Oh, this is so great for all the kids! Congrats to all

My friend got into Missouri! I'm so happy for her, since it was both her safety and her number 1 (journalism school). Now she's applying for the Honors College, and lucky for her it's rolling too, so she should find out within a few weeks :D and then it's CINCHED for her.

Jealous :)

Salpert - that is wonderful news! Not only do you have an admission already, but a full ride! Congratulations for your hard work.

Tako - my son got into the J-school too, and just applied to the Mizzou Honors College yesterday, and I wondered how long before they give an answer. Thanks for your post.

I just got accepted to San Francisco State! It's my second choice, still waiting to hear from Sonoma State (1st choice) and CSULB (3rd choice)!!!

And on my mom's birthday too! Major celebrating at my house tonight.

Oregonianmom:

Yes, my friend emailed them and they told her that if she was accepted, she would find out in 2-3 weeks.

Congrats HisGrace :)

Congratulations to HisGrace -- I went to SF State, back in the dark ages -- bet it's changed a lot since then.

D2 just found out that she has been admitted to her first choice school today!! It was pretty much a "given" , but until she read the words there was still some uneasiness. She is so happy now and can start planning for her next four years.
Now I can't wait until April when scholarship decisions are announced - LOL
(fingers crossed - she's going anyway but I would love to have a scholarship ease the burden a little!)

PA Mom: which school? Post in the official acceptances thread! Congrats to your daughter :)

Funny you should ask oregonianmom-
University of Oregon!

She has always wanted to live in the Pacific Northwest and after a trip for college visits, she fell in love with Eugene and the UofO. I will enjoy visiting her.

Good choice! But don't let my dad hear that - he's a Beaver through and through. For that reason, in order to keep peace in the family, U of O wasn't really an option for my son, even though they have a good journalism program ;)
Besides, S wants to do like your D and go clear across the country for college. We'll help keep the airlines in business!

LOL - My daughter also liked OSU a lot, but she preferred the art department at Uof O.
We have wonderful schools right here in PA, but both of my kids chose to leave the state and explore - oh, well. It does make it fun to visit and my husband loved seeing Prefontaine's stomping grounds.
Good luck to your son!

S got LOA from Air Force Academy today!! On this birthday! Everyone over the moon here!

Wow, fencersmother, that is so exciting! Is that his first choice?

Yes, but tied with USNA. I think his 3rd, Notre Dame, has dropped far far off the radar after we went to the local program on it Wed. night. Both Twin1 and Twin2 were put off.

So, Twin2 is very pleased with this AFA LOA, craving one from the USNA too.

Twin1 is kind of floundering right now because Notre Dame was his first choice. He has USCGA on his radar though... we'll see.

The one boy from my son's class that I know who went to Notre Dame loves it, for what that's worth.

Update: Son got an acceptance letter from the Mizzou Honors College today!

just got accepted to Michigan state U! It's definitely a safety for me, but it feels nice to have 1 college under my belt...now hopefully the merit aid will come...

my best friend got his likely letter to harvard like 2 weeks ago. we are so excited! he was the first person to hear that he was going to be part of the harvard class of 2012. I can't saw im not a bit jealous :) that everything for him is set so soon, but he really deserves it.
