wjb congrats!!! and to others as well!!!!

S made Wharton this evening. Very happy about the result & congrats on everyone who made it. He changed his mind weeks before applying the school, so I was kind of worried (actually a LOT). For the ones who didn't make it on ED, there're more chances in RD, so let's go for it.
Thanks, everyone.

Congratulations to all!!!

D#2 made into JHU ED! Woooeeee!!!!!!!!

Into UPenn!!! Can't believe it!

With all kids now off shortly, my wife and I can become like newly weds (i.e. empty nesters). I can also dust off those golf clubs and other toys. Yeah. kids will be missed but life will become sweet. Cheers to all of us. We have our lives back again.

S2 into Western Carolina University. He's 2 for 2, happy and done.

Son (our youngest) got into Wesleyan (Middletown, Ct). We are over the moon. Congrats to all!

Daughter got deferred to both Boston College and Georgetown today. Not a happy day at our house!

Twin A into first choice- Oberlin, with merit aid. Twin B into first choice,
Syracuse (Newhouse). We are all in shock, ecstatic. 23 colleges visited....
through snowstorms, delayed flights, cancelled flights, overnight stays on campuses where my son called at 7 the next morning and said "pick me up- I don't want to go here!", etc. It's like a prison sentence being commuted-
the last 1 1/2 yrs has been so stressful....it's over!!!!!
Good luck to everyone else!

Cornmuffin, WOW! How cool that the acceptances arrived together! Both are excellent schools. Congrats!

Congrats to all. It's been a good couple of days! Cornmuffin, how great for the saga to end for both twins on the say day!

Marathon D is in at Northeastern. One of her friends, for whom NEU was a first choice, was deferred, so the thrill of the first acceptance was tempered a little by his disappointment.

My son just became....

A REEDIE, Class of 2012!

He loved Reed from the moment he stepped foot on campus and never wavered in his devotion. I am so happy for him!

Congratulations on all of the new accpetances!

yeah! congratulations, carolyn, and all!

S got accepted to Georgetown- early action. What a relief! Hopefully this will help my anxiety and insomnia a bit. Congratulations to all acceptances and for all those deferred or denied, please do not give up. Everything eventually falls into place.

Congratulations, everyone!!
My son finally heard from Vassar - he got in ED!! Hurray - less anxiety and insomnia for me too!!
Now I have to prod him to keep his grades up, or they will take it back!!

Mamabear,
I am very sorry that your daughter got deferred - does she have some safety schools on her list, in addition to tough schools?
Hang in there - I truly believe that things will work out as they should.
Adigal

Carolyn: Congratulations! It's hard for me to believe that your son is even old enough to have applied to college! (I feel like I've "known" your family for so long.)

Adigal: Welcome to the Vassar family!

To those with deferrals or rejections: Hang in there. It really does work out in the end.

D deferred from her first choice Georgetown, very disappointed but handling it well, am really proud of her. It helped that all but one ("mom, she's freaky smart") of the 7 or so who applied to Georgetown from her very competitive HS also got deferred. Since her twin (S) is into two schools (UVM and Case Western), think D is wishing she took my advice and did EA somewhere else too, since she's realizing it's just as hard that she's not in anywhere yet as it is that she's not in at Georgetown.

Cornmuffin I laughed when I read your post about being done with the college visits. We have twin A applying to 15 schools, twin B applying to 10 schools. We visited about the same number of schools you did. Didn't have to fight any snowstorms this round of applications, but fought a blizzard trying to get to Vanderbilt and Emory when my oldest---now sophomore at Wash U St. Louis---was applying :) Don't think we're done yet, we didn't make it to a couple that were far away and may visit them if relevant twin is accepted.

Also really on the fence about Case Western---loved the campus, think the engineering programs look great. Don't understand why it's yield is so low, and big reservations about some areas of Cleveland. Any input would be really welcome....
