Thats how I feel ^^

Like I have too many reaches.

Some privates have deals with their state for lower cost for in state. Cornell has something like that.

Grrr, you’d think my guidance counsellor would know what she was talking about XD! ^^

I’m going with the old saying: shoot for the moon because even if you miss you’ll land among the stars…

Hope this apllies to college

That quote gets me through this whole admissions thing.

Right now it’s looking like:

EA: MIT and Chicago (Chicago is basically my dream school)

RD:
UMass
Brandeis?
Rochester
CMU
Rice
WashU
Brown?
Yale

Since I live in Texas I’m applying to:
Ut
A&m
Texas tech
Tcu
And
Utsa:)
I can’t wait to be a senior next year!!:)

Hey, I thought I was totally original, claiming “Shoot for the Moon” as my college application process mantra! Darn! LOL. That’s the only thing that makes me crazy enough to want to apply for Stanford SCEA in the fall! Even if I miss Stanford, I should be good enough for everywhere else…right? :)

Yeah, this site has made me feel less unique, but I love sayings despite them being “to cliche” as my ape teacher likes to say -_-

Final final final list, whoop whoop.

Scholarship deadline:
USC

EA:
Chapman
Santa Clara

RD:
Vanderbilt
CSU Long Beach

Final list:

Smith ED I

Time to repost my (modified) list here.

MIT (EA)
Columbia (not sure about this one)
Cornell (definitely, unless I get into MIT EA, which is unlikely)
Considering Stanford and Caltech, but I don’t know if it’s worth the effort since I’d much rather stay on the east coast. Maybe wait for EA results of others before making my decision on whether to apply to these two (If Caltech is nonrestrictive EA, maybe I’ll apply there EA).
RPI
RIT (considering)
NYU (considering)
CMU (Probably)
SUNY Binghamton (EA, definitely - an acceptance into a safety EA will allow me to avoid the whole “what if I don’t get in anywhere” that some people experience)
SUNY Stony Brook (also EA if they offer it, for the same reason)
SUNY Genneseo (possibly) (not sure if I spelled that right or not)

At least I have a general sense of my preferences so far. (MIT first, but RPI very close behind since MIT is unlikely to accept me)

Working List:

ED:
University of Pennsylvania (Huntsman (Not sure if I’ll set CAS or Wharton as my secondary))

EA:

RD:
Harvard
Yale
Princeton
Columbia
Stanford
University of Chicago
UCLA
UC Berkley
UW (Safety)
CMU (Safety (legacy))

Now that I look at my reach-heavy list, it feels kind of like I’m playing to win the lottery. If I somehow make Harvard and ED UPenn… I’m gonna be ****ed.

Just an off topic question, would being on good terms with a University prof help me get into their school, because I took piano with a professor at Blair (Vanderbilt’s music conservatory) for a couple of years. Just curious, I don’t particularly want to go to Vanderbilt.

@CPU: You’re deciding to apply ED!!! Yay!!!

I don’t think I’m applying ED anywhere, so these are all RD:
Stanford
Johns Hopkins
Wellesley
University of Washington
NYU
Brown
Columbia
Seattle University
Harvard (pretty sure I’m not going get in, but it’s worth a shot)

Epic list-changing abilities are epic. (:

Adding Johns Hopkins RD to the list.

ED: Either Stanford or Northwestern

RD: Cornell, Columbia, RPI, Case Western, Drexel, CMU

Mandy- just saw your comment, yes I am are you?

ED:
Smith

RD: (not sure on these yet)
NEU
BU
Wellesley (EE)
Wesleyan?
Cornell

Umm yeah. I don’t know about the RD list. So hopefully when I send in the RD apps I can withdraw them on December 15 :)

Wow…a lot of you are applying to more colleges than I was planning on applying to! Not that it’s a bad thing…I would if I could, but it’s pretty expensive to send applications to a lot of colleges, from what I’ve seen.

TOP 3:
Florida State University
University of South Florida
University of Central Florida

Probably won’t get into but I think I might apply, just in case:
Univeristy of Florida
University of Miami

And I’m pretty sure I’d get into UNorthFlorida no problem, so if for some reason I don’t get into ANY of those university (my biggest fear…) I could go there. So I’ll probably apply there, too.

Does anybody know if any of those colleges offer ED? I asked my counselor about it, and she said that only Ivy League schools do…

ED:
Pomona

RD:
UCLA
Cal
Swarthmore
Occidental
Claremont McKenna
Duke
Cornell
Brown

and some others

Classof12and16- almost ALL schools have ED. check their websites.

Wow, really? Darn school counselors. Thanks for the tip!
