Best school; for us is UVa.

but Vtech > UVa in Engineering by far.

Sociology and what not.

well can you give us detailed stats?
SAT,
GPA W AND UW
All activities
leadership etc etc

and tell us colleges you want to attend.

that can help us help you :)

CPUscientist, my unweighted gpa is probably aroud 3.8-3.9.
I’ve taken all but 1 math class my school offers(stats and I’m planning on taking it next year
I’ve taken 4 sciences so far: bio, chem, physics, and anatomy…likely ap chem next year
I’ve taken the honors track for english and history, ap for both this year…
I’ve also taken latin 1, 2, 3 and 4 next year, art 1, 2, 3, and hopefully ap next year…
Anthropology is similar to archaeology but more the study of culture than bones…
I’m taking sat next month…hopefully between 1850-2250?
My library volunteer job has progressed from simple jobs to fixing books, I created a literacy program for kids I run once a month.
I’ve really focused on the library, girl scouts, and tennis, so I don’t have a lot of other ecs…
I love Brown and Vassar, but know I don’t really have a chance…
I’ve looked at Oberlin, Ohio Wesleyan, and Rochester…
Thanks for being willing to help!
Where do you think I have a chance?

do you have any school you like right now?
any at all?
Just give us a list.

I’ve also looked at:
Swarthnmore
William and Mary
Hartwick-i got a letter offering garunteed admissions…weird?
Roanoke
I’d like to stay in the northeast, but not in MA…

So my mom just said I’m anti-social and a bore.

And also say what you like and don’t like about each school. And your intended major. Mine changes slightly with each.

MIT-- there’s no time to be all happy go lucky social. Don’t let what she says get to you.

I really want a campus that feels like a campus which is why I crossed nyu off my list, if you’ve ever been to wpi that’s the campus feeling I’d like…but it doesn’t have my major and is to close to home. I like small class to teacher ratios, having my major helps-anthropology(a lot of schools do have it, I’ve also considered math-general, but don’t find it very interestin), strong department, garunteed housing, financial aid packages, and location, I’d like to go to school in Ny, PA, OH, and RI, but if I find a college I love I would go anywhere. Oh and a study abroad program, I love to travel/learn about other cultures hence the anthropology!

hmm…
But NYU is very good for that. I have a friend who wants to major in the same ting. I’ll ask her what schols she looked at and i’ll post them on here for you.

Would you mind attending a women’s college? If so, id recommend Wellesley, Bryn mawr, bay path, etc

EDIT- NYU is TERRIBLE with financial aid.

That was another part of why I scratched NYU. I really want to feel like I’m at college. I visited Northeastern and decided I didn’t like the vague campus. I wouldn’t mind attending a women’s college, but I would prefer co-ed. I did look a little at Bryn mawr, but I live in MA and I really want to get out of state…I know it costs more out of state, but that is worth the money for me.
Thanks BlackRose and CPUscientist…my friends are all going to the local college and think I care a bit to much about college…

Wordgirl,

you are among like minded people.

^__^
We all think about college way tooooo much.
We spend (or at least I spend) half my time on this site. lolz

and you disliked NEU?!?
Oh well, more chances for me then. ^_^

and check out the University of Hawaii.
I think they might have what you want. If you are willing to go that far.

I’m visiting northeastern in April, everyone says it has no campus :(

You’re welcome. Trust me, your friends don’t care ENOUGH. that’s why you’re on CC, we all “Care too much :)”

I know. Northeastern really is a pretty good school, the dorm I saw was a closet, but they had nice classrooms and a lot of dining halls(it seemed like the guide pointed out a new one every few minutes) it was also an icky rainy day, so none of my group wanted to really look, it was a school trip, but make up your own mind, don’t listen to much to what everyone else says you’re the one living there for the next four or more years!

Just want to second that…you are among like minded people and it’s very encouraging

Sent from my iPhone using CC

True! To both of you haha
