Class of 2012: Where are you applying to?

okay, so I know that EA is Early Action, but what’s the benefit of it? It’s different than ED, right?

Essentially getting your decision earlier instead of waiting until April 1st, especially if it’s a school you really like.

Plus it’s not binding and you can apply to as many early as you want. Win!

And your end of junior year grades might be better than your first semester senior year. So if you apply EA, colleges will see up to your junior grades, make a decision, and THEN ask for a midyear report. As long as you don’t do terrible first semester senior year, they won’t rescind (I hope.)

Yeah, I think I like the idea of applying EA better than ED.
How early can you apply to schools EA?

The deadlines are usually Nov 1 and Nov 15

I need some advice, friendly people!
I like wellesley, and I’m interested in it and all, but I feel like I’ll be missing out, since it’s all-girls.
do you think that there will be guys around at all in a Wellesley girl’s life? I’m not a very socially active person so I won’t be hitting the clubs or whatever you hip young kids do these days… but guys are a lot of fun and really chill and I feel like I’d be socially deprived without them.

Wellesley isn’t an all girls’ school. It’s all women’s (there’s a huge difference.)

Women who choose Wellesley don’t have to consider not applying because there aren’t guys. They’re drawn to the empowering atmosphere, etc.

It’s in a city so there are guys, and there is cross-registration. If you want to meet guys, you have to be more social.

It’s an amazing school, don’t let the single sex-ness throw you off. If it does, it’s not a good choice for you.
