Yale (Legacy)
Princeton
Dartmouth
Williams
Duke
Georgetown
UVA
Sewanee
JMU (In-state safety)
Virginia Tech (In-state safety)

My tentative list (in order of preference, well, preference so far)
- Columbia U.
- Barnard College
- USC (I am from Socal after all )
- UPenn (legacy)
- Trinity College

Haven’t seriously started thinking because I am waiting to see my SAT scores. Those will really decided whether I can apply to my dream schools or whether I need to be more realistic.

In no particular order:
University of Pennsylvania
Dartmouth
Yale
Harvard
Brown
Princeton
Columbia
Cornell
Swarthmore
Northwestern
University of Chicago
Amherst
Carnegie Mellon
UC Berkeley
UCLA
Stanford
Vassar

Wow, you all have lists…I only have faint little ideas about college in my head…no college names in there yet. My SAT score is good enough for UCB and UCLA, but I’m still wondering if I should even think about going there, especially because UCLA is so close.

IDK, I want to go to a small college, one that offers pre-med and sciences. Sigh. Congrats to you all for already being prepared. ^

^The person above you has no idea what they’re doing. That’s not prepared, that’s just naming 20 really good schools for whatever reason. Your list should be at most, 10 and should have at least 1 or 2 safeties.

Yeah, Sapphira Lily, I agree with Cackalacky. My list of schools was comprised after I visited each campus and went to the tour and information sessions. The person above you named every Ivy League school and several other prestigious universities. I doubt that they really know much about all of those schools.

Harvard
Yale (SCEA)
Brown
Columbia
MIT
Stanford
NYU
Oxbridge
Georgetown
John Hopkins
Colgate
Hamilton
Cornell
Dartmouth
Duke
UPenn
Princeton

^Same with you, definitely…see above.

I agree that the superiority complexes of a lot of you on this thread is baffling and kind of scary. You don’t apply to college for another 2 years… who knows how scary-competitive all those schools can be by then (as if it’s not bad enough right now already). Anyone ever heard of “safety schools” before?

Just because you’re ranked #1 in your class and you have a dazzling resume doesn’t give you an automatic in to an Ivy these days. It really is coming down more and more to pure luck as opposed to how high you scored on the SAT.

Only visited LeHigh and Duke

I wish I had a “I want to go to school X more than anything else” but I don’t have that feeling for any school/program besides the Upenn 7yr dental program (CAS–>Penn Dental), which is near impossible to get into (no one got in last year).

So I guess the only schools I can see myself go to right now are
Penn
Duke (grade inflation + beautiful campus)

dream goal: penn 7yr bio-consort. program linking penn cas to penn dental (not through lehigh or muhlenberg or villanova)

Stanford
Princeton
Dartmouth
Harvard
Columbia
MIT
NYU
University of Michigan
Duke
Yale
Wharton

carnegie mellon
harvey mudd
olin college of engineering
mit
rose-hulman institute of technology

Meh. I feel really stupid posting on this thread. Half of you listed every single Ivy and every other school in the top 25. I’m just aiming for state schools. I don’t want to pay oos tuition because I don’t feel like it’s worth it for undergrad, and I’d much rather save the money for grad school.

University of Michigan-Ann Arbor----------> Reach
Michigan State University-----------------> Match
University of Michigan-Dearborn----------->Safety

devry-reach
ITT tech
university of phoenix- legacy
community college
Harvard-safety

@seahawk is ITT tech your reach, safety, or match?

Awww, thanks for the comfort @Cackalacky and @keeponreaching. :)

You know, my parents support me no matter where I go (they just prefer to be somewhat near me) but I really just want to make my grandpa happy because he raised me when I was little. So that kind of means any well known American schools. :/

Time to work hard.

Um… I won’t bother listing the top 20 colleges on US News and World Report
Besides that Bs/md at BU, Penn state, brown, northwestern, gwu, drexel, rip/albany or anywhere else.

Georgetown
Columbia
Yale
University of Washington
NYU

That’s all I can really think of for now. I’m not too sure yet.

BOWDOIN.
im obsessed with it.

NYU (CAS), please!
Northwestern (Medill School of Journalism), please!
UCI
UCLA
UCB
