BROWN FTW

I donā€™t really have too big of a list so far! But here are the schools Iā€™m thinking aboutā€¦

UMich and Michigan State, for sure (in-state)

Iā€™m applying to for sure

Maybes:

Duke
CalTech
UC Berkeley
UC LA

You will all apply to only maybe 1/3 to 1/2 of your list here because absolutely nobody here realizes that 1. The Commonapp only adds an extra essay and saves absolutely no TIME which 2. you have NONE of senior year. You can say youā€™re gonna apply to 15 schools one of them being oxford rolls eyes but you wonā€™t, and you absolutely wonā€™t apply to Oxford. Why not? Because you havenā€™t looked into how much of a pain in the ass it is to apply to an english college compared to the already incredibly high level of ass pain youā€™ll experience for each american college youā€™ll apply to. Case and point, I wenā€™t into junior year thinking 12, Iā€™m most likely done at 4. Youā€™ll find the places you actually want to go to and apply there and there only.

My college list is very different from the summer. It just goes to show how much things can change in a short period of time. I know my list will change again and again, but thatā€™s the process. Once I get my SAT/ACT scores back, then this could flip flop my list. I need to go to a school which is affordable, thus I have to apply to a large number of schools. I will go to the school I get the best deal, financially. Instate is the last resort, but I wonā€™t be 100k in debt for any college. I do have expensive colleges on my list, but we will see. My new college list is:

NYU (has always been my number one dream school, but I prob will never go there because of the crappy aid)
Emerson College
Fordham LC
Sarah Lawrence College
Fairfield U
American U
Chapman U
Loyola Marymount
Loyola Chicago
U Minnesota- Morris
Georgia College and State
UGA
Oglethorpe
Flagler
SUNYā€™s (havenā€™t decided which ones, but they are a good deal OOS)

Iā€™ve been creating and destroying and changing my college list since I was seven years old! I wish I was kidding too! But hereā€™s my list so far:

-UNC Chapel Hill
-Virginia Tech
-UVA
-Northwestern (somewhat of a reach)
-Georgetown (definite reach)
-NC State (safety)
-University of Mary Washington (safety)

Those are my top choices right nowā€¦ as of now I get in-state in NC and VA so Iā€™m going to stay in those two states because I really donā€™t see a need to spend 30,000 a year on an undergraduate educationā€¦

UC Berkeley
Stanford
UCSD (safety-ish)

JHU
SUNY Stony Brook
Northeastern
Rutgers

Watch me get rejected from all of these.

MIT (probably applying EA just for fun)
Caltech (ditto^)
