Class of 2012

Actually I'm a girl too so we're 3.

Okay, why dont we find a topic to discuss...this is getting more and more, how can I put it :D, tedious perhaps...lol, joking

but lets find sth interesting to discuss other than the demographics of the thread!! :D;):D

ok here it goes.

I want to get into a Honors program. Anyone else wants the same?! ;)

huh? what honors program...what is that?

I would love to get into an honors program --> but as if now that is not what I am aiming for...

Can somebody help me find out what honor program is? I've been familiar with the name but I don't know the actual meaning of it.

Btw, I'm a girl, too. :)

w00t w00t!!! actually damn..... This is a female dominated thread! :D

Honors Program! Well only the top students are invited to this program. They work closely with professors on research and write their own thesis and if they are able to complete a project or a research they can graduate way before other students. Most of the colleges have different dorms and stuff for honors students.

Ah, so it's collegiate level.
Well, I do NOT want to go to an honors program. Even if I qualified, I would not under any circumstances want to graduate early. I want to fully enjoy my four years. But if I could take it without graduating early, I would love to do so.

yep you can take it without graduating early! Infact a few of the honors program take 5 years to complete ;)

So then what is the point of an honors program?

I have always wondered that...

It's grool!!

That is not a very convincing argument, MR. anorexia

Being among the very smart students of your college, studying very closely with teachers who recognize you, doing research and other stuff...
Don't you also automatically get scholarships and grants?
I'm only guessing, I'm not very familiar with the "honors program" thing.

yep, that would be amazing. The recognition, the prestige....terrific

now that's convincing!

hey guys just wondering, what's in-state & out-of-state? i was reading some stuff & got confused.. thanks!

Well, I'll give you an example. Berkeley's cost for in-state applicants is bellow 10.000 dollars (from within California) whereas out-of-state applicants have to pay more than 20.000 dollars...get it?

LOL!!!

channn you are considered in state by UCs if you are a resident of California and if you reside in some other state you are considered out of state :D

In the end it comes down to amount we have to pay as debate_addict pointed :D

yep in most of the colleges you dont have to pay anything if you get into the Honors program! :D <----NOW THIS IS SOMETHING!

I'm class of 2012 too.

Anyone taking the May tests?
